Surely you dont think that the RCC is the only true church. The scripture mentions those
called out. The Ecclese, IIRC. There were originally five churches after the Book of Acts. After Constantine had his dream and made the Rpman church first among equals (since it was within his territory, the eventuality was a split in 1066. 4 of those cities became Eastern Orthodox. The Roman church was in the epicenter of political clout and used their power uniformly at times, divisive at other times, but always with full confidence.The Protestants came later yet some of them clearly understood and "knew" God better than most of the Popes and Cardinals. Of course to be fair, there is always a remnant...a minority of people in any church that are in touch with the Divine. If they are wise, they wont use it for power.

The Catholic Church is made up of different Catholic Churches besides the RCC, but all share the same doctrines and dogmas and all accept the Pope in Rome as their head.
