Instead of starting forty new topics, why don't you answer the multitude of rebuttals in existing topics?

Come all of you cowboys all over this land,
I'll teach you the law of the Ranger's Command:

As long as there's bullets in both of your guns.

Re: Videos, Books, and Propaganda
Phat writes:
First of all, it takes me time to address arguments.
But you're not addressing rebuttals at all. You're charging ahead to create new topics where you will inevitably just repeat the same old nonsense that has already been addressed.
You're just diluting your nonsense by repeating it in so many tthreads. Stick to one topic and carry it through to the end.
Phat writes:
I need to hear arguments articulated in a disciplined format, such as a book can offer.
Are you saying that my posts are not articulated in a disciplined format?
Phat writes:
Critics will say that the "Book" could be propaganda, but what would we rather have? An authoritarian regime that burns books for the "good of the people"?
Nobody is suggesting burning books.
What I'm saying is read the books and then discuss them.
Phat writes:
I am using the Book Nook to address each book that I actually read.
But you're NOT addressing them. That's my whole point.
Phat writes:
Critics previously lambasted me for getting my information from YouTube videos.
But you're treating the books the same way you treat YouTube - as absolute truth with no room for discussion. If you were actually thinking about the content, you should be able to discuss the rebuttals.
Phat writes:
... don't expect me to believe that your evidence in any way defines reality.
Evidence DOES define reality, in EVERY way. Whether you believe that or not is irrelevant.
Phat writes:
If nothing else, I will challenge the "woke" culture and show them how asleep they really are.
By all means, DO that. SHOW us.

Come all of you cowboys all over this land,
I'll teach you the law of the Ranger's Command:

This is a perfect case in point.
How is it a case in point? You're still not addressing any rebuttals.

Phat writes:
I am convinced (so far, anyway) that the Central Banks want to promote digital currency...
So the central banks are conspiring? Who's behind the conspiracy?
Phat writes:
Anyone who doubts the bedrock value of hard assets (Land, Gold, Copper, Nickel, Oil, Natural Gas, etc) need only ask Europe what they think as they shiver this Winter.
The oil and natural gas will be pretty handy to prevent shivering - not so much your adored land, gold, copper and nickel. Gold doesn't give off much heat.
Phat writes:
Why don't banks lend out their reserves?
Because they're reserves.
Phat writes:
Everyone in global finance knows that Gold still backs the Central Banks. If not, why would they bother to own it?
That question has been answered for you before. Read your replies, even if you can't refute them.

Humans are not a solid bedrock.
But they are. Despite all your harping about the "Rock of Ages", humans are the only thing that matters.
Humans will always need food, clothing, shelter. Humans will always need to work.
Their ability to work is their only real asset. Depressions, wars, etc. can make a mess of any "economic system" but no depression or war can eliminate a human's ability to work.

Phat writes:
An ounce of gold is worth an ounce of gold.
An ounce of gold will still make as many electrodes as it did in 1933 or as many wedding rings as it did in 1933.
But the value is how much you can exchange it for, whether dollars or bacon. That has changed a lot since 1933 and can also change again.

These days, I would rather bring home the bacon.
As usual, you miss the point.
The point is that the value of gold DOES change. It's only worth the amount of bacon you can get for it. It's "stability" depends on the same factors as the stability of the dollar.

I am in the process of weighing ideas and in effect teaching myself.
I have mentioned to you before the dangers of self-education. Too much opportunity for confirmation bias.
You need to read things you don't want to read and consider ideas you don't want to consider. You need to BE ABLE to put ideas in your own words and to BE ABLE to put forth coherent arguments for counter-ideas before you decide to add something to your synthesis of ideas.

Re: its The Marketplace, stupid
Many years ago, my father asked me to draw a cartoon for his Sunday School class: Fred Flintstone with a thought-bubble containing the word E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N.
Sometimes cartoons can convey a strong message.
Sometimes it's a false message.
Cartoons are not necessarily a good source of information. They're one step below videos.

A video (or documentary) is quite capable of going into every bit as much depth as is a book.
Nonsense. As I have pointed out before, a book is always there; You can go back to a specific page or a specific paragraph or a specific sentence. You can't do that with a video. They're not that precise.

I could see them on the library computer if I wanted to. I don't like them because they're a poor source of information.
