i've been devouring a lot of books lately, as my eyes get better and my old self comes back as my diabetes sugars fall. I've found that I have more mental focus and can better defend my biases as well as my discoveries along the way. I'm almost finished with Ray Dalio's book, but my quest for knowledge extends far beyond the author.
Hence my latest book:
The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy - What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny The Author, William Strauss, passed in 2007 and thus does not have Dalios perspective or observation on the financial recession of 2008 nor of the blatant infantile attempts to "fix" the system and avoid the necessary pain since then.

Pot Meet Kettle?

And you shouldn't be defending your biases anyway. You should be trying to get rid of them.

Are you telling me you don't favor one "side" or another?

Re: Pot Meet Kettle?
Of course you would say that. After all you claim too be an elitist. To you there are only facts. To you there is really only one side. One truth and one set of facts.
In your defense Jesus likely felt the same Way.

An honest participant would be interested in understanding the point they missed. Instead, you make attacks and lie.
I wouldn't call them "attacks"...but maybe others see them that way. And I never knowingly lie...at worst I assume or exaggerate. Arguing is fun for me, usually. (And) as a matter of fact, I would be interested in what point you saw that I was missing.
I would be an idiot to not respect the intelligence of the peanut gallery to some extent.

Re: Pot Meet Kettle?
It's rare when I allow other people to tell me hat is and is not a lie. As an example, you guys braying about lack of evidence for Jesus does *not* make my belief a lie.

Re: Pot Meet Kettle?
Again, who is this mysterious "we"? We are a nation of individuals, many of whom actually think for themselves and not what Dear Leader (of either political persuasion) suggests they do.

I don't know if anybody ever called a belief a lie. Your belief is definitely wrong - and clinging to it despite the evidence is foolish.
That's exactly what an elitist would say. You claim to *know* and claim that I don't know. Such hubris. Im sure Jesus forgives you since He knows your heart...likely better than you do.
I would think that He is puzzled by your lame argument that gods are relative to the individual.
I will have to ask Him, but I hope He forgives me for my own sins.

You CAN NOT know something without evidence.
While I agree that there are many examples of things I cannot know without evidence, I will assert that I know some things through intuition. Can I be wrong? Absolutely. But I go with my gut (gut bacteria? ) on some things. I don't need to wait until Joe Biden, Jerome Powell, the peanut gallery, Fox News, or the B.B.C. show me a report that something is real.
ringo writes:
The hubris is yours, thinking you can "know" something in the complete absence of evidence.
I won't place my intuition on a plane equivalent to objective evidence. I will trust my instincts, however.
ringo writes:
You should ask him to help you demonstrate that my argument is lame.
So far He has shown me little evidence. The jury is still out on a few points of contention.
ringo writes:
It's pretty damn obvious that YOUR made-up God is entirely relative to YOU.
Have you ever met Him? Or have you only met me?
