Ringo, Sunday is simply referred to as the "first day of
the week." Even decades after the death of Christ it was stillreferred to as the "first day of the week." The Catholic Encyclopedia states that Sunday worshipwas initiated by the sole authority of the RCC. They state correctly that the NT does not support Sunday worship. The CE states as fact that all these other churchesfollowed the example of the RCC. This they assert is clear proof of the RCC God given right to Trump clear Biblical teachings. Both Rome and the RCC have sentenced many to deathfor not working on the Seventh Day Sabbath and resting on Sunday. Sunday worship is a mark of the Holy Roman Empire. Both of these beasts are discussed in Revelations 13.

So what "church" do you belong to? Or are you your own "church" because you are infallibly led by the Holy Spirit?

Ringo, Sunday is simply referred to as the "first day of the week." Yes, "Yom Rishon" ("First Day" -- sorry for transliterating rather than futzing with HTML entity codes for Hebrew). And everybody knows which day is Yom Shabbath even if they prefer to use the Sun's Day (early Catholic missionaries were infamous for assimilating the pagan religions -- both their sites and their gods).
Sunday worship is a mark of the Holy Roman Empire. No, Sunday worship was already well established before the Holy Roman Empire formed out of the divisions circa 900 CE of Charles the Great's (AKA Charlemagne) Carolingian Empire formed in 800 CE (basing that on the date of his coronation as Emperor). BTW, that was the First Reich (800 - 1806, hence Hitler's conceit that his Third Reich would last 1000 years), the Second Reich was created at the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1870 (and ended with defeat in WWI), and we all should know about the Third Reich. The damage had already been done long before the Holy Roman Empire. BTW, condolences on your Great Disappointment.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know what the "first day" of the creation week was? Sunday is simply referred to as the "first day ofthe week." I can see how an extremely loose interpretation of the Old Testament could give Bishop Usher the year but how could he get it down to the month, day and even the hour? (I know there's a lot of woulda-colulda-shoulda nonsense about equinoxes, etc. but the Bible doesn't support any of that.) It seems to me that there are vast gaps in continuity that make if impossible to say with any confidence what day is THE sabbath in the present."Oh no, They've gone and named my home St. Petersburg. What's going on? Where are all the friends I had? It's all wrong, I'm feeling lost like I just don't belong. Give me back, give me back my Leningrad." -- Leningrad Cowboys

As a Last Thursdayist none of this matters to me. But lord help those heretic Last Tuesdayists.
What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. -Christopher Hitchens Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

You guys are being too legalistic. To sabbath means to rest in Christ. Any day can be a sabbath, but one must take the time seriously.

Phat, point out to me in the Bible where Jesus said that
any day is the Sabbath. Point it out to me where any of the Apostles said thatany day can be the Sabbath. The Bible is very specific about which day is theSabbath. Jesus said that to break the least of His commandments,or to teach others to do so, is the same as breaking them all. To disobey a direct command from God is not a goodthing. I spent nine years in an orphanage. During this nineyears we attended a Church of Christ three times a a week. I believed that Sunday had replaced the Seventh DaySabbath with all my heart. It is extremely difficult to challenge ourselves as to whywe believe what we do. As for being legal, what is wrong with that? Do you want the deeds to your house and car to belegal? You seem to think that those keeping the SaturdaySabbath are trying to earn salvation, rather than trying to obey God. Do you think that those who don't steal or murder aretrying to be legalistic? How about those who honor their parents. Are theytrying to be legalistic? Don't you think that it sounds cheap and tacky to singleout one Commandment and say that those who obey it are somehow inferior to those who obey the other Commandments.
