I modified the email to say that the older thread hasn't been recently active.Initial indications are that the emails of about 1/3 of members who haven't visited within the last 90 days are no longer valid.

For accurate participation rates, should you differentiate between members who had under 5 posts vs members who participated and then left, such as sidelined or schrafinator?I think Faith is still our top poster even though she has been indefinitely suspended for two years! jar gave her a run for a while, but he is currently inactive as well.Other notables include Brad McFall, Mr. Hambre, and Holmes.

I'm going to say more than you need to know because this post will serve as a record for what I learned.Emails from EvC Forum are being blocked by your email service's spam checker. I checked the mail log and saw this (I've inserted some formatting for readability): Following the Abusix link, it says this:

Grammatical error is theirs. Abusix thinks evcforum.net is fine. The domain it thinks has the problem is qwixotic.com, which is the domain for the company that owns EvC Forum that isn't used at all except as the domain for the server itself. But qwixotic.com runs no email service, and it would be pointless to put that domain in the body of an email because I never created a webpage for it. The control panel just throws up a default webpage. Just for the heck of it I just now added a default webpage that says only "Qwixotic".I use free online blockcheckers that check with dozens of blocklisting services, and our IP isn't listed at any of them, including three Abusix lists: I think Abusix is screwing up somewhere. I put in a request to be removed from the list, but I won't be surprised if nothing happens. Yes, your email arrived, but my replies won't get through until Abusix takes me off their list.

I'm home on a good connection now and I'm seeing a red box with "image not found" all over the place now.I see four of them in your post Percy - the very first smilie, the 7th and the last two.


In preview, all those show as image not found for me.This is the underlying emoticon in one of Phat's posts - post 123 of the Conspiracy theory thread*looks nervously around while whistling Dixie*Safari 15.6.1This is what I see Ok, just checked using google chrome - it works fine with that browserIt also works fine on iPadAir with Safari software version 15.6.1. Weird.

This minor update was mostly just code cleanup, but as minor as it was there's still the potential for bugs to have been inserted. Please post here if you notice anything.

still seeing the "image not found" problem everywhere. Now on Safari v16.0.

I just paged through the humor thread (lots of images) and couldn't duplicate the problem, even with Safari 15.6.1, but it's not impossible there's some Javascript issue that only presents itself under certain circumstances. If you can provide an example image link I'll see what I can figure out.

The "image not found" looks like this and it's only from some emoticons as in my post above. A recent one is from both emoticon in GDR's post 833 in the choosing a faith thread.
