Does your pension belong to you or to the people-at-large? That doesn't even make sense.
If you withdrew it from the bank and did not hand it over to the friendly government, would the people have a right to seize it? I'm not sure that makes sense, either. My pension is direct deposited to my bank account. I withdraw as needed. And I do pay taxes on that pension. Is paying taxes what you mean by "hand it over to the friendly government?" I don't think of it that way. I think of it as paying my share of the support services that I depend on.
How about if you had a safety deposit box and they froze it? I'm not sure what that's all about either.
These answers likely will reflect what I dislike about liberal Authoritarianism. It seems that what you dislike about liberals, is the bullshit that you have made up in your head.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

The error is that jar has convinced everyone that Christianity is all about what we DO and that I refuse to DO as ordered. No, jar has not convinced me of that. Reading the gospels convinced me of that. And I was very disappointed as a teenager, when I discovered that Christianity as practiced is chock full of hypocrisy.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Why I get so mad at "Liberals" has been partly because I have felt that they (you) were against me and my personal beliefs and expected me to listen to "what Jesus" told me to do. Just to be clear, I am not against you or against your personal beliefs. You are entitled to those. Nobody is telling you what you should do. They are just reminding you of what Jesus taught.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

My question to all of you is this: Is humanity ready to cooperate should chaos erupt? The liberals are ready to cooperate. I very much doubt that the conservatives are ready.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

The atheists are skilled at always interjecting enough doubt into the arguments so that the theists never win. That's not atheists injecting doubt. It is theists demonstrating that they have no supporting evidence.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I believe, however, that nobody should be talked or coached out of their faith. Then nobody should be talked into a faith. So WLC should be out of a job.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

never mention the other spirits that seduce, lie, and beguile humanity. They are the ones causing all the trouble! We call those "conservatives" and we often mention them.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I note that the subtitle is "hatred of thinking".
I doubt that Phat hates thinking. It's more likely that he just isn't very good at thinking. He never acquired the skills.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

My motto was that if you don't stand for SOMETHING you are liable to fall for ANYTHING. Yes, that's Phat -- liable to fall for anything. And we see that liability in his posts.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Phat in Message 861 writes: Just because you have never found evidence nor reason for inspiration does not mean that you should remain angry over a belief that you have only come to judge based on what others tell you. There's no anger here. I upvoted Message 860 because the meme seemed to ring true. I began to question Christianity after I started reading the Bible for myself. If I had been content to go with what others told me, I might never have had those doubts.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Phat in Message 867 writes: It is straight up anti-theism. I agree that AZPaul3 is anti-theist. I'm not. I have rejected theism for my own life, but I don't try to impose that on others.
You (your side)says that all wars are caused by it. Wars are complex and have complex causes. Human greed is often one of those causes. Blaming it all on religion might be too simplistic.
To be fair in this argument, I will admit that the theists themselves do not help their own cause these days, starting with their behavior. There's a point of agreement.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity
