Re: William Felton Russell, 88
Russell was one of the biggest monster men I have ever seen in my life. Like Shaq and Ed "Too Tall" Jones. He was a giant of a man. And he played his game to perfection for decades. What a life.

Re: Tony Dow, 77
As soon as you said Wally Cleaver his image popped into my mind. It's funny to me how many actors (many of whom I liked watching) that I only know by the names of their characters. And there are only a few rock bands that I know all the member's names. I'm good with insect scientific names, but have to look up the English names for all but common and local species.
Thanks for posting all these. It's nice to mark the passing of people who touched our culture, especially through art and science.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

Re: Olivia Newton-John
This one hurts. Way too soon. From Olivia Newton-John - Wikipedia:
quote
In May 2017, it was announced that Newton-John's breast cancer had returned and metastasized to her lower back. Her back pains had initially been misdiagnosed as sciatica.
Newton-John subsequently revealed this was actually her third bout with breast cancer, as she had privately battled a recurrence of the disease in 2013 in addition to her initial 1992 fight.[141] With the 2017 recurrence the cancer had spread to her bones and progressed to stage IV.
Newton-John experienced a great deal of pain from the metastatic bone lesions and had openly spoken of using cannabis oil to ease her pain. She was an advocate for the use of medical cannabis. Her daughter Chloe owns a cannabis farm in Oregon.
On 8 August 2022, Newton-John died at her home in California, aged 73.

Re: Olivia Newton-John
She was an amazing woman - fought long and hard and survived cancer into her 70s - hats off to her.
(I was more of a Mary Stuart Masterson fan from her Some Kind of Wonderful days, but I was very much into Olivia too).

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

OMG She died? She seemed eternally young. I remember her in that tight black suit in Grease. Man, I'm getting old!
