Its just that I was under the impression that strategic petroleum reserve fuel was earmarked to help lessen domestic costs of gasoline for Americans...not Chinese.

The reserve is crude oil, and - according to what I’ve read - if it’s being shipped anywhere it’s for refining because the US doesn’t have the spare capacity.

US refineries are at 98% capacity. The chinese are paying market price for the oil. As a commodity it effects prices no matter where it is refined and used. What the fuck is the problem?

And I didn't realize the U.S. president is a seller or buyer of oil, or other commodities for that matter. Does the Department of Commerce engage in commerce or regulate it?
