Re: Anti-semitism to boot
You P.C. "woke" Liberals really need to back off your morality policing.
Who is killing girls with their moral policing of abortion? Who legislates that an ectopic pregnancy must be carried to term? Who uses their GOD Fucked morality to torture kids?
Republicans. Not liberals. Your religious right. Wake up to what woke really is.

Conservatives, Liberals, and a Secular Future
The "Religious Right is not My Religious Right. I voted for Biden--not Trump. If Trump were in power now, I shudder to think how this war would turn out. Would he side with Putin over NATO?
I was simply making liberalism personal with Theodoric since he made Anti Semitism into a personal issue with me. There will always be points of contention regarding morality.
I am glad that you initially defended me, but I notice that you then jumped to defending liberals in general. Is the political divide that sensitive for you? You do know that once inflation really begins to wreck our economy, the ignorant masses will blame Biden rather than the real villain--the Federal Reserve.
The Federal Reserve will be unable to stop inflation, but they won't care. They will defend the dollar--even against Gold.
I fear that the Liberals are less worried about exponentially increasing debt.
In their defense, however, I believe that if Gold goes up relative to the dollar, Conservatives will welcome it more than Liberals.
And on a personal note, I fear that this war will be the final nail in the coffin that will accelerate global warming.
An Apocolypse is coming be it sacred or secular. And FYI, Alcohol likely will be as good of an investment as gold, but keep in mind that Hops is a commodity too.

Hops are used in beer and ale, but not in distilled spirits. I think it will be the latter that has high value after the apocalypse.
An Apocolypse is coming be it sacred or secular.
Sacred or secular? What does that even mean?
You do know that once inflation really begins to wreck our economy, the ignorant masses will blame Biden rather than the real villain--the Federal Reserve.
You do know that what you call inflation is prices going up because of scarcity of some commodities because of disrupted production and supply lines caused by a global pandemic and now a war in Ukraine, and not by debt, don't you?
The Federal Reserve will be unable to stop inflation, but they won't care. They will defend the dollar--even against Gold.
What the hell does this even mean?
I fear that the Liberals are less worried about exponentially increasing debt.
I realize you are using exponentially increasing debt as scary words to make some obscure point, but do you even know what exponential growth is or how it applies to debt?
f(x)=a(1+r)^{x}
f(x) = exponential growth function
a = initial amount
r = growth rate
{x} = number of time intervals
In their defense, however, I believe that if Gold goes up relative to the dollar, Conservatives will welcome it more than Liberals.
I assume anyone who sells their gold for a profit will welcome it, but I cannot imagine the mindset of anyone who buys that gold.

Just because he's rich doesn't mean he's not a fool. Look at Trump shitting in a gold toilet thinking it made him special.

And gambling is an addiction that addicts go to great lengths to rationalize.
Over the course of my life I have lost my retirement to gambling. I now undergo regular counseling and am sober from it. Getting back to Conservatives and Liberals and economic repercussions for the future, I will go out on a limb to say that Conservatives dont mind debt if it helps them earn money in the long run. Liberals are more inclined to see no need for anything to back the global fiat currencies except for prior human agreement and cooperation.
*snap* the limb is cracking!

So you don't see the gold buying as gambling, but your reasoning looks like rationalization to me.
I have no idea what the rest of your post means, except that you don't seem to have a clue what conservatives or liberals support.

That's the problem. Debt is sometimes necessary to get the money to do what needs to be done. You don't save up your pennies until you have enough to pay cash for a house. You borrow the money so you can have shelter now.
Conservatives only care about what "helps them earn money in the long run" (except that they often have a very short view of "the long run"). They don't care much about what needs to be done now. They don't want government to do much at all.

They don't want government to do much at all.
Except keep girls from getting abortions and block minorities from voting, reverse gay marriage and other things along the lines of denying rights to other people. They like a lot of those.
Oh, and subsidize their $$multi-billion multi-national conglomerates. Conservative love a government that does lots of that.

Phat and gold
I believe this is the thread in which Phat extolled the virtues of gold.
It is down over $100/oz from its high in the last month or about 5%. The Dow jones is up 6% from its low.

Re: Phat and gold
Also from your source:
quote:
The Russian ruble's near complete recovery in recent weeks is not a signal that the Russian economy is weathering the sanctions Washington and its allies have imposed since Russia invaded Ukraine, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Wednesday.
The Russian economy is "reeling" from the sanctions imposed after the late February invasion, Yellen told the House Financial Services Committee. The market for rubles has become so distorted by actions of the Russian government and its central bank to limit capital outflows that "you should not infer anything" from the value of the ruble, which fell to a record low against the U.S. dollar immediately after the invasion but has since retraced most of those losses.

Re: Phat and gold
You really need to learn critical thinking. Pegging the ruble to gold artificially buoys it. Gold is down over 3% in the last month.
