Wow!
Your dishonesty non-sequiturs and unevidenced assertions continue. Are you saying that unless a follower of a religion lives at the house of worship they have no say in what happens there? The one where he went to preach must have been someone else's Temple.
Logically progression of ideas seems to be lost on you. Nothing that was said should rationally lead to any statement like this. This started with me asking for evidence of ritual prostitution at the Temple in Jerusalem and you managed to drag it off to this non-sequitur. Admin, Mods.I realize that this is in faith and belief, but to continue to let him present unevidenced claims and bald assertions with absolutely nothing to back it is a travesty. Would I be allowed to start a topic and just throw random shit on the wall? This is not at all tied into the OP. An OP that had misrepresentations from the start. What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. -Christopher Hitchens Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

You're the one who's running and hiding. I said that your statement was a non-sequitur. Your proper response would be to show what your reasoning is or to ask me what I don't follow about your reasoning. Run and hide."I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!" -- Lucky Ned Pepper

When you have no validity or message then pound the pulpit.
That is GIA's sole purpose and tactic. It is an excellent example of the Christian Cult of Ignorance though. My Website: My Website

The thing about these religious wackaloons is that they expect us to be convinced solely because they say so. They think we should accept that they have some sort of insight or special knowledge that no one else possesses. It is not much different from most RWNJ's(Right Wing Nut Jobs) and anti-vaxxers.

If I have to prompt you to provide decent replies, at your age, be I agree with your judgement of non-sequitur or not, then know that I do not have the time to teach you.
When I see a non-sequitur, I am quick to break the logic trail. That is the right way to debate. RegardsDL

I'm open to suggestions, but if you read GIA's early posts as I just did, they seem very similar stylistically to what he's posting now. I don't think he's going to change, nor that serious discussion with him should be attempted. I like to avoid suspensions now where possible, we're a bit thin these days.

The problem is the basic flaw in the purpose of the forum that has existed from day one.
You hoped that a reasonable dialog might be possible between those people who are in touch with reality and make evidence-based decisions and those people who are out-of-touch with reality and make belief-based decisions. Your hope was doomed from the git-go but that does not mean that the effort was pointless. The evidence is that many of the former group still participate while almost 100% of the latter group ran away. There is a possibility though that simply presenting the contrast between the two mutually exclusive approaches MAY have allowed some of the hidden audience to move from being in the latter to among the former. My Website: My Website

Alas, I guess you are correct.
I promise, I won't troll the trolls. No, that's not it. It was worse. I hoped that a reasonable dialog might be possible between those people who are in touch with reality and make evidence-based decisions and those people who are one form or another of creationist but who are also in touch with reality and make evidence-based decisions. That latter group turns out to be nearly non-existent. The result has been a 20-year dialog with fantasists. The remains of the ark have been found. Evidence of the escape across the Red Sea has been found. Jesus's brothers tomb has been found. Evolution can't produce new species. Dinosaurs have been carbon dated to 5000 years old. All the geology of the world was created in a global flood around 4700 years ago. Floods sort fossils in order of their radiometric date. Erosion's eventual result is not flat plains. There is no evidence so clear it can't be convincingly misinterpreted as evidence for a young Earth and a literally true Bible. Complicating matters is that the religious only become more entrenched and irrational over time. --Percy

It's not just Creationists though.
For over a half century Christianity, particularly in the US has become totally focused on avoiding reality. It began to accelerate in the 1950s, primarily driven by integration. The Avoidance Schools were the first step and the Avoidance School Board Members the second major step. The two primary goals initially were to keep little Johnnie from having to sit next to a darkie but then to try to take over control of the public schools as well. Even into the late 1960s to early 1970s the US society was ordered as God intended; there was the world of the White Male Anglo-Saxon Protestant, the world of the White Female Anglo-Saxon Protestant and the everyone else but that world was under threat and attack. My future Father-in-law was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and so when his daughter went off to college she too went to UNC, but not in Chapel Hill. She went to the Women's College of the University of North Carolina which was in Greensboro. In her senior year though WC change names to The University of North Carolina Greensboro and started admitting males. After graduating and our marriage she started teaching art at Gillespie Junior High. It was South of the Tracks and even all the students were from the neighborhood and were black. The day she was assigned her classroom she returned home crying. Only half of the lights had bulbs, the total art supplies for the class was one 50-pound block of modeling clay, many of the windows were missing blinds and only half would even open. Yet again, the proper world was being threatened. Since many of the streets South of the Tracks were still unpaved and city sewer and water nearly non-existent there was an outcry for change. There was a push to bus kids from South of the Tracks to the schools North of the Tracks and even demands that maybe the roads should get paved, and sewer and water extended. The result was the sudden creation of a whole bunch of Church Schools and unfortunately even though The City really wanted to pave the roads and expand the water and sewer system the funds would just not be available immediately. But soon. We promise. The World remained as God intended, split into the three classes, White Male Anglo-Saxon Protestants, White Female Anglo-Saxon Protestants and the lesser breeds. Even the fact of a Roman Catholic President was seen only as an aberration. The trend has continued. Once integration lost its hold as the demon the Christian Cult of Ignorance simply found and created new Demons, abortion and science and communists and socialists and gays and trans-sexuals and ... There is never a shortage of "Thems".My Website: My Website

He is no Christian. He thinks he himself is god. And his arrogant attitude shows the demons tormenting his soul.
"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." ~Mark Twain " *** “…far from science having buried God, not only do the results of science point towards his existence, but the scientific enterprise itself is validated by his existence.”- Dr.John Lennox “A God without wrath brought men without sin into a Kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a Cross.” “The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.” — Leo Tolstoy, The Kingdom of God is Within You

He is no Christian.
For that matter, Phat is no Christian. But he says that he's a Christian, and we respect that. In the same way we should respect what Greatest I am says about himself.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Oh Phat is definitely a Christian, a very common type of Christian, one that God and Jesus would spit on.
