What Would It Take For The US Dollar To Collapse?

And note that I foresee higher inflation in the future.

I have long argued that he was a racist. Granted, I have always been both anti CIA and anti Neo Con.
It is now proven, on tape, that Moynihan claimed that it was a scientific fact that blacks are inferior to whites in intelligence.
I was arguing against such a thing as far back as the age of 12. Lots of stories there.
Moynihan spoke of facts, but he was just a slick anti-third-world CIA thug, with an slick, phoney, "intellectual" facade.

You quoted me saying that Trump is unique in his record-setting disagreements with his own party, and I was referring back to the 2015-2016 period as the most ferociously fought period.
Your response didn't seem to catch my point.
MY POINT:
The Senate trial will be packed with a Republican Senate caucus that has more (political) reasons to convict him than even the Democratic caucus. ( I was not saying that Democrats won't take the stale political road, mind you. I knew they would vote to convict in even higher numbers)
I was saying that an acquittal would actually mean something. Which is rarely the case, in a chamber that is so divided (every 2 years since 1966-67 broke the Democratic supermajority) along loyal partisans of both parties.

I have been wondering if the national situation is comparable to the swamp Sarah Palin cleaned up in Alaska.
She managed to take out the entire (very corrupt) leadership of her party in Alaska. With the exception of the lone survivor, Lisa Murkowski.
It gave Murkowski a chance to reinvent herself as an opponent of extremism.
Do you see a parallel between Alaska and Washington D.C.?
(Liz Cheney and Mitt the Twitt are suddenly champions of the people?)
I am just waiting for Dick Cheney to ride into Washington D.C., on a white horse, ready to "save" us all from the "foreign threats" (Bush 43 did not take his advise to bomb Iran, and Hillary was quite excited to "save us" from peaceniks like Bush 43 and Obama), to the cheer of Senate Democrats as they throw flowers at every gallop.

Hello there, Mr Phat, let us go a round or two.
A case was made by both the defense and prosecution. Either side had a valid argument, though I favor the prosecution. Trump went out of bounds for good form by an acting president. He was irresponsible.
A calamity of events, all combined, cost Trump his second term. If any one of them had been missing, he'd have handily won another term. The two main events were; 1) the Covid pandemic with all the biased reporting and sensationalism it received from the mainstream media, and 2) the amazing cover-up by the mainstream media of the NY Post story a few weeks before the election, of the Hunter Biden/Joe Biden corruption during his vice presidency. Some organization, maybe MRC (I can't remember for sure) claimed that it's surveys showed that a small, but significant percentage of Biden voters wouldn't have voted for him if they'd known about it. The network news, with its over-the-air reach that cable news and the internet don't have, have a big influence over information cover-ups.
I agree with you that Trump was irresponsible, in the last few months of his presidency, I thought he should have conceded sooner than he did. But I don't think that his behavior was anywhere near the level of impeachment. He didn't commit perjury like Bill Clinton did.
Did you watch the defense make their case? Did you see the videos they showed of some past behavior of Democrat congressmen and senators? Did you see any irresponsibility there? I know the knee-jerk reaction is that they weren't on trial, they weren't president etc. but if you'll hear me out - the charge against Trump was that he inspired the capitol insurrection even though it's a fact that most of the people there traveled there days before Trump's speech, and that bombs were planted before the speech. But everything to do with the insurrection happened well after countless Democrats said inflamitory things about civil unrest. Let's look at three of them, that were all included in the defense's videos;

Did Trump's words "peacefully and patriotically" inspire the capitol insurrection more than the dozens and dozens of documented public speeches by Democrats over the past year? Of course many people didn't know about Trump's words "peacefully and patriotically" because the news media covered them up each night of "evening news reports" for several weeks before the trial. I watched the Trump defense lawyers present their case on my local ABC station, wondering how they were going to dance and cover up on their evening news report, the same things that were shown plain as day on their network only hours before. They didn't disappoint, while the video of the Democrats the defense showed dozens of Democrats saying "FIGHT LIKE HELL, FIGHT LIKE HELL, FIGHT LIKE HELL, FIGHT LIKE HELL, over and over and over again, their evening reports only said Democrats said "fight" many times, they only reserved the "fight like hell" quote to Trump. I must admit, they did show, just that one time, where Trump said "peacefully and patriotically" unlike any of their news reports each of many evenings before. You may notice that Schumer, Pelosi, Cuomo, and no one else in the dozens of hate filled Democrat public rants about Trump, used the words "peacefully and patriotically".
Thankfully, Trump has shown no intention of bailing out any of the capitol insurrectionists. Do you think any of those insurrectionists could have been inspired by Kamala Harris's contributing to the bailing out of criminal rioters? The defense likely banked on the fact that the Republicans would be split enough that the prosecution would fall short of the 2/3 majority needed. The defense gambled well.

The Orange Menace may resurface in 4 years, but hopefully the voting public will see the light and the fact that they are responsible for choosing better (than him)
The voting public has yet to see what they're in for, for the next 4 years. There are thousands of un-educated, non-English speaking central Americans marching towards the U.S/Mexican border right now, not much reporting about it in the news however. I watch ABC World News Tonight most evenings, almost no time spent on the closure of the Keystone pipeline. Biden is now getting started on gun control, again, not much reporting. So many people are going to be caught off guard about the upcoming disasters, because the news media constantly covers things up that aren't favorable to Democrats.
So the world sees us as a weakened aging empire that is more partisan now than ever before.
That's true, and our enemies always seem to side with Democrats.
Unity or at the very least a consensus will require a lot of hard work, education, and ability to see the Bigger Picture.
The biggest problem is fake news, lying by omission. Ever since the jaw dropping cover up of the NY Post Hunter Biden story, I think correcting lying by omission by the Democrat controlled news media is our biggest piece of hard work.

The Central Americans you talk about are from the same Central America we violently interfered in. The CIA dropped bombs, in 1954, on the Guatemalan capital, to drive out the democratically elected leader, Jacobo Arbenz, from Guatemala, because he gave millions of acres of land to peasants. He was, of course, called a communist, but he sided with the U.S. position, often, during U.N. votes.
The nation suffered from horrific dictators for many decades after 1954, with hundreds of thousands of deaths due to the situation.
Why should we have a problem with people dropping in here, when we dropped bombs there?
Best to keep policy out of this discussion. I have heard enough crap from the others, here, to know that they will gladly post bomb a bunch of policy babble. There will, then, be no more good discussions here.

Better to start a new thread covering guns, Covid, immigration,etc.
You started your policy talk by saying Democrats are counting on the media not mentioning gun control proposals ( typically, Democrats shout from the rooftops about gun control, honestly), so that could be one thread.
You mentioned the fact that poor Central Americans are coming here for opportunities. Start a thread on that or combine it with guns. (I wonder if you could try to understand that we interfered violently in the internal affairs of Central America, and we took land from peasants and gave it to the United Fruit Company, and the poor people never got it back. It is an issue for TODAY)
You said that the media blew Covid out of proportion ( ares you saying that the virus can spread without mutating into something far deadlier?)
Another single thread, at least, for these 3 policy discussions, is called for.

If you bother to read the next paragraph he meant a massive electoral defeat for the Republicans.
The bottom line is very simple. We will stand with the American people. We will stand with American women. We will tell President Trump and Senate Republicans, who have stacked the court with right-wing ideologues, that you’re going to be gone in November, and you will never be able to do what you’re trying to do now ever, ever again. You hear that over there on the far right? You’re gone in November.

Where does Q-Anon Get Their Nonsense From?
I've come to a realization, but I want to put it out there as kind of a "Request for Comment" (RFC, though this has nothing to do with networking protocols).
Whenever we hear Q-Anon claims expressed, we're left in bewilderment of where they could be getting such nonsense from. And what kind of sick minds could dream up such horrors (the answer turns out to be Christian minds -- see below for the centuries-old "blood libel").
A few months ago I heard a Q-Anon claim being quoted verbatim, in which they explicitly named where these aliens who are ruling us are operating from: Deep Space Nine! That was an epiphany for me.
It certainly appears that they're getting this nonsense from decades, even centuries (again with the blood libel already!), of popular fiction, most recenly including TV shows and movies. Like DS9. Or V (1980's TV SciFi). And the much gorier horror stuff from decades of cheap gore movies at the drive-in.
Let's look at a few.
Obviously, the most ridiculously sadistic and gory rumors come straight out of all those cheap horror movies, the cheaper the gorier.
 
And lizard people posing as humans and ruling us? Yeah, I also remember V from the 80's. The first miniseries was rather good and the second was OK. By the time they got to the regular series, not so good but rather increasingly hokey. "V" stood at first for "visitors", aliens making contact with us in order to help us, but then the Resistance turned it around to mean "victory." It turns out that the aliens were looking to steal earth's water, plus they looked at us as a food source. At first, it was "They look just like us!", but those were just disguises. Instead, they were reptilian, feeding by swallowing their gerbils whole (there were a few scenes of that -- us they'd have to slice and dice first).
 
And space lasers? Lots of cheap and non-existent (or even impossible) unobtainium movie/TV/cartoon tech. Like SPECTRE's diamond-encrusted space laser in Diamonds are Forever.
However, in connection with those "Jewish space lasers", I also heard reference to "broadcast power" satellites. I don't know whether that had ever made it to the B movies or TV, but most space enthusiasts from the 80's should recognize that tech immediately. One advocate for space colonies was a physicist, Gerard K. O'Neill (with two ells while holding up three fingers, a recurring Stargate SG-1 joke by Col. Jack O'Neill -- and yes, in that Wikipedia photo he is sporting a Vulcan haircut completely with pointed sideburns). He proposed building space colonies which are departed from the old standard "space wheel" by designing them as rotating spheres where you lived on the inner surface of the sphere -- lots of living surface area along with artificial gravity (the designs of Babylon 4 and Babylon 5 were based on his ideas). Construction material would be mined from the moon (which has a lot of bauxite, the ore for aluminum) launched with linear accelerator mass drivers and the power would come from orbiting solar power stations. Also, forerunners of the Belters would scout the Asteroid Belt for raw resources and attach linear accelerator mass drivers to asteroids to propel them into a lower orbit where we could mine them at our leisure.
And the space colony economy would be based on cheap solar power that would be beamed down to receiver stations on the earth's surface through microwave transmissions. Which was the "smoking gun" (or Easter egg) I heard in a Q-Anon reference to those "space lasers" (from Rep. Greene of GA, I seem to recall).
 
Now, what about kidnapping children in order to drink their blood? That one is quite literally Christianity at its worst. It goes back nearly two millennia and is an anti-Jewish trope that apparently we will never be rid of. Besides "blook libel, it is also known as "ritual murder libel" and "blood accusation". And it is entirely Christianin origin, propogation, and as a standard excuse of Christians to conduct vicious pogroms in order to slaughter Jews (whereas their leaders were undoubtedly more interested in eliminating their debts by eliminating their debtors). How very Christian!
When my friend and I traveled to Germany a few years ago, I remember sitting in the train looking at the "nächster Halt" (sounds like "nexter Halt") scrolling announcement for Bacharach. I remember that because I saw it come up on the screen and my mind immediately read it like the singer, Burt (I read in whole words, not by sounding it out), but then the recorded voice gave it the German pronounciation which is quite different. It's a medieval town that's pretty well preserved, so it's a popular tourist destination. That was the first time I had ever seen Stolpersteine, "stumbling stones." They replace individual cobblestones in front of a house that had been owned or occupied by Jews leading into the Holocaust with a gold-colored metal mini-plaque engraved with the person's name, when they were arrested or rounded up, and when and where they died or were murdered ("ermordet" is very specifically used).
It turns out that Bacharach has a very bloody history because of the blood libel. From Bacharach's page (bold added):

Widely visible is the Wernerkapelle, a Rheinromantik landmark of the town, lying on the way up to Stahleck Castle from the town. It is the expanded Kunibertkapelle, and is still an unfinished Gothic ruin today. Its namesake is Werner of Oberwesel, known in connection with pogroms triggered by his death. According to the Christian blood libel, which was typical of the times, a 16-year-old Werner was murdered on Maundy Thursday 1287 by members of the local Jewish community, who then used his blood for Passover observances. On the grounds of this alleged ritual murder, there arose an anti-Semitic mob who waged a pogrom, wiping out Jewish communities in the Middle and Lower Rhine and Moselle regions. In folk Christianity arose the cult of Werner, which was only stricken from the Bishopric of Trier calendar in 1963.
BTW, Jewish dietary law forbids the consumption of blood. Kosher butchering tradition and practices aim to evacuate as much of the animal's blood as is possible. Ever wonder why Kosher salt is kosher? Because its large grains are better for drawing blood out of the meat. Nu?
And yet, the blood libel persisted among Christians.
When I transferred to a four-year, one of my first classes was in "Rabbinic Literature" with Rabbi Kalir. In one lecture he covered the origin of a Seder custom.
Have you ever attended a Seder, a Passover dinner? Elijah is thought to have never died, having been taken up into Heaven while still alive, so he could still be present on earth. At every Seder, a place is set for Elijah should he choose to visit and at one point the host or hostess goes to open the front door to let Elijah in, should he just happen to be in the neighborhood.
As Rabbi Kalir taught us, that custom came directly from the blood libel. He told us that Christians believed that Jews drank blood in their "secret Jewish rituals" and would abduct and murder Christian children in order to drain them of their blood for those rituals. Opening the door for Elijah was the Jewish community's attempt to demonstrate to everybody that they had nothing whatsoever to hide.
So this Q-Anon nonsense about killing children and drinking their blood is nothing more that old recycled Christian nonsense. The horrific "details" come from sick minds drawing from sick horror movies.

I stayed in Bacharach a while back and I’ve mentioned the Wernerkapelle here (as well as seeing it). It’s quite an impressive ruin, but the story behind it is chilling.
The usual shape shown for O’Neill colonies is cylindrical - which dies fit with the fictional Babylon stations.
