Try to learn some basics. The Earth got hit by something big enough to have created the moon and that did not appreciably change the orbit. How do you know that? I did not read the rest of the basics.

We know that because the moon exists. We know that because the moon is in an orbit around the Earth. Basics child. Learn the basics. Edited by jar, : learn has an N

The period of an orbit (AKA TIME) depends on the size of the orbit (AKA DISTANCE) Why do you assume the gravitational force is a constant?Could it be changed by the burning of the sun and the gaining or losing of mass on the earth?

The earth could simply catch the moon, just like the Mars caught its moon.

Are you trying to run away from my question?

If the Himalayan Mts. suddenly collapsed into the Indian Ocean, would that change the earth orbit a little bit? I think it would. It would be no different from a mountain size asteroid hit the ocean.

Basics. Really learn the basics. Our moon is made of the same materials as the Earth.

Our moon is made of the same materials as the Earth. Not really. The earth has a lot of granite. The moon has none.

So, talk as you like to. It would only confuse you more.

No, it would not change the Earths orbit at all. Really. Learn some of the basics. You do know that the Himalayan mountains WERE under water until relatively recently and pushing them suckers up did not change Earths orbit. They are one of the youngest mountain ranges on Earth.

That does not change the fact that the materials on the Moon are the same as on the Earth.
Do you even have a clue how granite is made?

quote: I think the confused person is the one who is suggesting that Noah lived at a time when the Earth was uninhabitable and had no liquid water on the surface (so no Flood). All in a desperate attempt to explain the age attributed to Noah by the Biblical myth. I guess that’s what happens when you desperately flail around making up excuses instead of employing reason.

Not really. The earth has a lot of granite. The moon has none. The moon also does not have any limestone. Nor should it. The conditions that would produce a lot of granite (a molten core and magma) or limestone (zoeplankton living in seas) do not and have not existed on the moon. You really need to sit down and have a long talk with a geologist. Oh yeah, I forgot, the moment you see a geologist you run away as fast as you can.
