I think capitalization and splitting your long paragraphs into shorter ones would be helpful. You managed to capitalize any form of reference to God, but nothing else.

Perhaps you meant oldest continuously inhabited cities?
​
I'm going to clean up your thread proposal a bit and promote it, but caution people to be brief in their initial replies in case this is a flyby.
