Re: Creationist mindset
It could be better. But you have to make the effort to be better. You actually have to learn to think critically about your own arguments, you have to make the efforts to get things right. You have to stop the misrepresentations and the smears and admit to your faults.
If you don’t do that, you’ll get what you earned. And that is what you complain about.

Re: Creationist mindset
The problem is at your end. You think you understand the world. You don't. You are abysmally ignorant and lacking experience of aii relevant fields of knowledge. You don't understand anything pertinent. It's difficult to address your errors because you know so little. It's like explaining compound interest to a three-year old.
Your pride won't let you consider the possibility you are wrong. You are who you are and you can't change or learn.

But is anybody noticing that this exchange has been nothing but a repeat of the same exchange that's always had about anything I post on any creationist subject -- or any subject for that matter, most of the itme anyway. I mean you guys ALWAYS say the same things you said here, although I described it perfectly already as the reason I do what I do that always provokes that reaction.
And by the way, this started with my saying that although everybody tells me I'm ignorant of all kinds of things I need to know my impression is that nobody ever really explains what they have in mind. Dwise had a conniption fit over that remark, but others had the same reaction though in less volatile form about it too. Although there have no doubt been explanations, it remains true in my mind that I don't know what you are talking about. Now if you say what you are talking about maybe I will recognize it, but the way these conversations go they aren't organized well enough for me to know -- especially since I really don't read some of the posts because I cannot stomach them, digest them, accept them when my own are treated like trash. There are endless complaints about how I treat everybody else's stuff as trash, but I'm not supposed to notice that it's done to me.
Having my thots treated as trash, even my most lengthy well thot out stuff, is supposed to be an incentive to "learn" according to all of you. What planet do you live on? Getting trashed is never going to be incentive to anything, and all you say in response is Well I deserve to be trashed because I don't want to learn. This gets pretty nauseatingly circular.
Please note that you and PK in this recent exchange have gone on and on excoriating me for my ignorance without once even giving a single example of that ignorance. I said the same to dwise though about his long post that seemed to me to do the same and I know if he'd been here in reality I would have been decapitated and buried in a shallow grave somewhere in the Sierras.
I'm pretty sure all you mean by my ignorance is my refusal to accept the tenets of the ToE and the Old Earth. Do you thlnk there's more to it?

Alternatively you are - as usual - ignoring facts you don’t like.
For instance your wilful ignorance of what the strata are really like was exposed again with this example Message 63
Or we have the recent rerun of your misunderstanding of Walther’s Law (aside from not understanding the Law itself) as mentioned here Message 74. Why you think a massive flood carrying huge amounts of sediment would be exactly like a slow change in sea level I have no idea. And it hardly seems that you do either.
Or your inability to address the points here Message 31
So your claim that we don’t explain your ignorance is a great example of what you are doing wrong.

Re: Creationist mindset
I want to answer this but for the moment will only say that I gather my "ignorance" is embodied in having a view of things you disagree with, as I supposed, and in your aggressive misinterpretations of what I have in mind. I say the strata are straight and flat and you tell me I'm ignorant of phenomena such as the Temple Butte limestone, which is untrue, it just doesn't apply to the current statement, AND I can answer it and have answered it many times.
Thanks for the examples, though it gets tyresome to be told I'm ignorant when such examples are the reason for it and all you mean about what I need to learn is YOUR interpretation of those examples. But I sincerely hope to get back and give more attention to this since you made the effort to do what I said isn't getting done.

Re: Creationist mindset
I don't thlnk it's true that I "don't learn" and need to learn more, as I just said to PK, all it ends up meaning is that I'm not accepting the establishment point of view. I know this but the complaint continues anyway. I do learn all the time when I see that I need to take something into account that I've been missing. abut of course what I learn is something I thlnk buttresses my own point of view, and that is not learening according to the majority denizens of EvC. Even if I went back to school and got degrees in biology and geology, what I end up arguing at EvC would brand me as ignorant.
I have books on population genetics, plus Genetics for Dummies, and five books on Geology, two of them about the Grand Canyon from the creationist point of view but the rest standard stuff. I've read most of all of them and continue to go back to them from time to time.

I'd do it for a small bowl of Hagen-Dazs Chocolate Ice Cream.

Re: Creationist mindset
Chocolate is good, but I got addicted to their lemon ice cream, which now I can't find anywhere, so I guess there is no incentive at all for me.

Everybody needs to learn more. You, in particular, have admitted many times that there are questions you can't answer.

Or you just don't respond. That's not a sign that you're learning anything.

Re: Creationist mindset
Very tempting offer but no, I'm afraid I have to continue to endure your insults. The Christian life would not be properly lived if we were spared the insults of unbelievers and other horrid afflictions and deprivations. (The reward is well worth it though in weak moments we too easily forget that. At least I hold on to it weakly.)_

Re: Creationist mindset
We've explained why you are wrong over and over again. You ignore our explanations and repeat your claims.
A few days ago I explained why your idea of the majik fludde picking up entire rock formations and depositing them elsewhere is rid.
Do you remember your reaction? I do.
