You have to make an effort not to just shoot off the first debunking thought that comes into your little head. Kettle meets pot. Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

How long does it take for mature trees to "get established"? Especially if they're "getting established" in a part of the world they are not suited for? How many years of supplies did Noah have in reserve?
What about the fish? How did they get "established"? All the ones who depended on salt water would have been killed by the fresh water of the 40 days and nights of rain. Really, the image of polar bears camping out next to a beached Ark for a few years while they raise families and live off emergency rations until the earth returns to normal from a sodden wasteland and then eventually decide to head back to the part of the world that isn't quite as hot as the middle east is . . . curious.

Pot goes bananas.
I think polar bears probably descended from an ancestor on the ark too. And I have no idea how long it would take for the land to dry out. And the ice age would have been starting as a result of the Flood so the Middle East would have been cooling off. No idea about the fish. Eucalyptus trees grow very fast even without pre-Flood vigor. A few months of supplies should do it IMHO. Cheers,Kettle Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

And the glaciers would have advanced (and then retreated, and then advanced again nine or ten times) unconscionably fast, for the same reason Pangaea split up in only a few days? And then, of course, after all that we have to shoehorn in three millennia of dynasties in Egypt before we even get to the time of Cleopatra.

No, I'm sure there was only one ice age so only one period of glaciation and retreat. I think it is still in retreat as a matter of fact, and this could be the main cause of "global warming." But warming may bring on cooling so who knows where it's all going.
Yeah and the timing of the Egyptian dynasties is wrong. You are trusting very fallible timing methods for which there can't be any separate evidence. Unless you'd like to use the Bible, but nobody wants to do THAT, right? So this lack of corroborating evidence is also the problem with most of the conjurings in the service of the ToE. Very few of them are anything more than somebody peering into the past and making a flat assertion without any way to corroborate it. (oh and radiometric dating, uh huh. Oh well.) At least creationists have the historical sequences of the lives of the pre-Flood patriarchs which give a good guess at the timing of the Flood. The ToE really has NO such evidence, it's all guesswork. All you've really got is guesses and assertions you see, though you treat them as established facts. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Ok, so the geologists are wrong about all those extra ice ages and the archaeologists are wrong about the three millennia of Egyptian history from the first dynasty to Cleopatra and the astronomers are wrong about us being able to see distant galaxies by their light that has been traveling for millions of years and the physicists and chemists are wrong about radiometric dating and the botanists are wrong about this "pre-Flood vigor" that you say made plants grow superfast . . .
OK Disprove this theory: There is no god. Earth was built last month by mice, which are really the manifestations in our plane of existence of a race of hyperintelligent pan-dimensional beings (to replace an earlier version of Earth that had, unfortunately, been destroyed by other alien beings) complete with fake dinosaur skeletons and carefully crafted evidence of continental drift and Carbon-14 decay etc. etc. etc. There is a book that says all this and it sold a lot of copies.

There is a book that says all this and it sold a lot of copies. If that's the one with the soothing cover that says "Don't Panic" I think I have a copy. I especially like the Zebra-crossing bit.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Can't disprove it, it's true.
But Faith doesn't know where her towel is.

Wait . . . did you say koalas evolved? As I recall, Faith believes that all current species have devolved from a universal donor species that carried copies of all the genomes of the species in their Kind (clade) ... through the loss of all the non-today species genomes. So koalas from one Poppa & Momma Wombat/Koala/marsupial lions/etc on the ark ... ... after the breakup (which only took days) became koalas ... ... and wombats ... ... and marsupial lions ... So it could probably run like the wind and eat anything in its way ... Isn't fantasy wonderful? Weird to see how my ideas get chewed up upon traveling through another person's mind. THAT "f a n t a s y" is yours, not mine.

Yes the timing of all those things is all wrong. It's all about the timing. Except for the astronomical facts.

Neither is yours, and that's the biggest problem with the historical sciences, those that purport to interpret the distant past.
