simple writes: one 1997 study Walt cited about the mitrochondrial Eve (mtDNA of many mother-child pairs) showed her living 6000 years ago! Other studies like where language originated puts it right near where the ark landed!
You can leave this if you don't have time. I opened it here since it is off topic in the fossil ordering thread. The 6,000 year figure is wrong. Please supply the cited reference. By coincidence I believe the correct figure is 60,000 years so it may be a classical case of messing up a decimal.
