No mystery for the investigators who looked into what caused building 7 to collapse. You just haven't been paying attention.

"Somewhat controlled"?
It's not a mystery, Phat, it had a massive hole in it and was on fire. Not only can its collapse be explained after the event, it was anticipated before the event --- the firefighters knew that it couldn't survive that much damage and so evacuated the area. I can find you a jillion statements from firemen saying this, if you like.

I have some young men at work (safeway) who are smarter than average but who like looking up conspiracy theories on their i-phones. They will likely grow up to be systems engineers, biologists, and educated contributors to society as many of you now are.
Conclusion?
  • we live in a society driven by media sensationalism as an addiction to alleviate the boredom of modern life and an escape. Internet infotainment addiction is prevalent across all ages.
  • friends like to gather together to chill at starbucks and shoot the breeze.

In Canada, we're having a Federal election next fall and people are in a panic about how "somebody" might use social media to influence the results.
Personally, I'm baffled by the idea that the Internet could have any influence on how I vote. What kind of idiot gets their news from social media?

That would be the idiots. Sadly there are far more idiots than non-idiots.

There have always been idiots and as John Stewart Mill suggested, idiots usually vote conservative. No doubt the idiots are attracted to the Internet and other shiny objects but I don't see how that will effect the outcome.

The problem is that these days we're normally dealing with a 50:50 split vote give or take a couple of %. If you can nudge just a small % one way or the other you win.

Here is a Conspiracy Theory from the Secular Humanist Website
    ringo writes:

The question is whether the conspiracy theories really come from a bunch of nuts or from the Propaganda Ministry.
Faith used to think that the liberals blamed Trump for everything. Some liberals did.
There have always been idiots and as John Stewart Mill suggested, idiots usually vote conservative.
The conservative Christians I knew thought that Trump was approved by God and was prophesied by Kim Clement.

Re: Here is a Conspiracy Theory from the Secular Humanist Website
Republicans are a conspiracy of the wealthy designed to steal all the money in society, keep minorities and poorer people from voting, teach god-done-it in the public school science classroom and to criminalize abortion, self expression, love, sex, pursuit of happiness and alternate power sources while maintaining the more barbaric tenets of capitalism, white privilege and segregation especially from the poor which is all the rest of the 95% of the populous.
That's really not a conspiracy theory. It's more a conspiracy fact.

    Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.
