I don't feel up to fooling around with IE or any other browser right now; maybe later, but I'm OK dealing with the problem the way I have been.

Just for the record, I'm now getting another problem I also occasionally get, that may or may not be connected with the logout problem, though it's a lot less frequent: While I'm logged in there are no times given on any posts or at the top where it says "current session began: and Page loaded: and Current time: If I log out those numbers appear, and then disappear again when I log in. If I log out and reboot the problem will probably straighten out.
And also for the record, I checked the Cookies and the date one year from now is listed for each item. ABE, 10:29 AM PDT, Logged out and rebooted the computer and have the same problem. When I'm logged out the times are posted, when I log in they disappear. ABE 10:59 PDT, Logged out and went to check my email and answered one. When I came back I logged in and now the times appear as they should. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Probably the "Current time" isn't present when you're logged out. At least it's not supposed to be. You say the time fields are filled in when you're logged out. Does that include the "Current session began" time? If it's not blank, can you tell which cookies have values when you're logged out?
If I log out and reboot the problem will probably straighten out. Does the problem straighten itself out if you log out of your computer account (don't reboot), then log in again? Does the problem go away if you exit Edge, then start it up again? Does the problem go away if you shut down all EvC tabs, then open one up again?
And also for the record, I checked the Cookies and the date one year from now is listed for each item. Okay, that's good, those are the expected Cookie values.

I know you're on Windows 10, which is the latest OS, but how old is your computer and what brand is it? Not that there's anything I can do with that information, but if the computer is old then there might be some weird Windows 10 interaction, though the fact that it's only affecting EvC is strong evidence that the problem is with EvC. --Percy

The problem kept up yesterday and only corrected that one time when I exited to get my email and logged in again. It's ok today so far but I'll give you a report if it happens again.

Wasn't going to mention it, because it's not a big deal.
But now I've seen a bunch of these email-related messages (Message 660) so here's my small story: Diomedes replied to one of my messages (Message 37) on Oct. 11th.I did get the email, just didn't get it until Oct. 16th. Usually EvC emails are "instant-ish" for me as far as I can remember. My email goes through yahoo mail. Not sure if it's related or not.Just some more information. Still the best forum software anywhere... Edited by Stile, : Added link to Diomedes' message

A delay of five days for a notification is pretty unusual and not something I can explain.
I've set aside some time over the next few days to investigate EvC email issues in depth. There's a sort of standard called SPF that increases email security (in the sense that it helps recipients be sure that the sender is who he says he is), and email senders that use SPF have a lesser chance of email being blocked or hindered in some way. EvC does use SPF, but apparently not in an optimal way.

If you have a client that will let you see the headers you should be able to work out where the delay was.

FYI
I received notification emails from your Admin reply and PaulK's reply instant-ish as normal. So whatever it may have been does not seem easily repeatable.

Page 4 of Bit Coin: 2 bit bubble is stuck on Phat's Message 46 (Message 46 of 48). There are two more messages after Phat's, but the page refuses to scroll down past the NPR embedded object.
It's actually much worse than that. Nothing appears after the NPR embedded object in that message. Not even the "This message is a reply to:" or the Peek and the Reply buttons. Or Phat's own signature block. Or any of the controls, copyright message, etc at the very bottom of the page. I'm not the only one who encountered this problem. From ringo's Message 48, which is one of the two messages being blocked by this (I had to use the participants list at the top to Fetch all of ringo's messages):
ringo writes: I can't reply to your Message 46 because your god damn NPR is fucking up my browser. Stop posting crap like that and use your own words. BTW, I'm using Microsoft Edge (Chrome stopped working). Just in case this problem is browser-specific.
