Re: Summation?
It should at least let me post a summation message but it tells me I've either already done so, which I haven't, or I haven't participated in the thread.
But beyond that Percy has addressed a couple of posts to me so perhaps the thread should be reopened.

Resetting "Summation" to have new start for 1 summation message each

This topic is veering way off course. I'm going to give it a rest.
Topic Reopen Requests simply Message Me.(or any administrator)
Instead of a temp closure, he apparently put it into summation.

Yeah I'm not getting the summation message that used to pop up. Since Percy seems exempt too, maybe its because we have the Admin accounts linked to our name and the software is mistakenly let us post on our 'debate' accounts?
I think the summation message pop up only happens once. I would be inclined to have it open every time.
Members with admin linked IDs are exempt from the summation restrictions. I don't think that was a deliberate design by Percy, just a byproduct of the admin ID exemption.
I'm pretty sure that admins can edit in even a closed topic, although I don't think they can post a new message in a closed topic.
Bottom line - I think that topic is a terminal mess and needs a simple closure. But I will take it out of summation and then put it back into summation. That should reset things such that Faith can get one last summation message.

Or something like that.

Just FYI:

I only get the summation message once.
Once when Phat put it in that mode.
Then, once again when you reset the summation mode.
I don't get the summation message on re-opening the thread anymore.
I would be inclined to have it open every time.
Things that happen "every time" have a tendency to become annoying.
Would this particular last-message-indication get annoying? I dunno.
Doesn't really bother me either way. Just sayin'.

Re: Resetting "Summation" to have new start for 1 summation message each
Hi Stile! Sorry about the confusion. We admins were all attempting to do the same thing a different way! I think I have it all sorted out.
Im still not sure exactly how summation mode works, but I have stopped monkeying with it and hope that it works ok for you (and others) now. It seems that topics around EvC are not quite as moderated and disciplined as they used to be----we kinda just let them run their course since we no longer have a 300 post limit due to newer software changes.
As administrator, I was attempting to give Evolution: We Have The Fossils yada yada yada a break, but we decided to let it settle into summation...I'm still trying to figure out the exact method for the settings.
These days, any topic is bound to become a hot one full of dialogue unrelated to the original post. Hopefully I (we) can keep the runaway trains on the tracks at least.
