You silly Czech taught me something today. I always thought a vacume is space devoid of matter. I was under the impression that 'vacuum' is second hand and inferior American English for 'vacume'. You taught me that spelling it as 'vacuum' is also English English!Never too old to learn something.

But if you can't believe Genesis 1:1 you won't believe the rest. But if you believe Genesis 1:1 you will have no problem with the Bible. But if you study the Bible you will find in the translations where man put his stamp on it which resulted in mistranslations of words. But the original autographs contain no errors.If you believe the Bible teaches the junk that Ken Ham puts forth and all the other YEC'S you are going to have trouble with that as it does not agree with the Bible or reality and what can be observed.So if you would like to discuss what the Bible actually says start the thread as I suggested.God Bless,

Hi Pressie, What type of a vacuum are you talking about.I have a pump that when I need to evacuate the Freon in an air conditioner that I can hook up and pump all the Freon out creating what is called a vacuum. This is in order to draw everything out of the lines and compressor. It is then replaced with new Freon.It makes no difference how long I leave the pump hooked up I cannot remove everything in the compressor and lines.If you are talking about a vacuum inside the universe one does not exist. For the same reason I cannot get everything out of the lines and compressor.Science says that 96% of the universe is made up of dark matter, and dark energy.What is dark matter? We don't know.
How does dark matter function? It has to hold the universe together.What is dark energy? We don't know.

We don't know.Since dark matter and dark energy make up 96% of the universe there is no place in the universe that is not occupied by energy, mass, matter, dark energy and dark matter. Even in my lines and compressor that I have pumped on for a long period with a vacuum pump.If you are talking about a vacuum that 2 branes could have banged together in and caused the universe to begin to exist, where did it exist and what caused it to exist.If you are talking about a vacuum that my wife uses to pick up dust, dirt, and water off the floor and carpets. That is a machine that has a motor in it that turns a fan creating a suction that picks up things and deposits it in a tank with the air then passing through a filter and exhausting back into the outside air.If you are talking about a vacuum as Physics you would be referring to space void of matter, or a place where the pressure is so low that any particles in the space do not affect any processes being caried on there.

No it does not. since virtual particles love poping in to exsistance in vacuums.
And they dont need any cause to do so there is just a chance that they might and so they do.everything on the quantum scale works on a wave of probability or chance, and untill you actually take a look at what is happening thats all anything is on such a small scale a wawe of chance or probability. Its only when you look that particles and everything else become real.If you shoot atoms trough 2 slits, untill you actually look trough witch hole the atom went the atom was only a wave of probability and went trough both holes then the wawe colides with itself and forms an interference pattern of collisions with the detector behind the slits. But if you check trough what hole the atoms goe they go trough just one hole and form a 2 stripe pattern on the detector.In essence i think the universe came to be because there was a chance it could or a probability it could form. No cause or causer needed. Even no laws of physic need not be broken as long as the net energy of the universe or universes poping in to exsistence is 0. Or in math terms +1-1+2-2+3-3=0 But that does not mean the numbers being added up dont exsist.
