Jumping off of a bridge is analogous to a Leap Of Faith. Perhaps after observation of the behavior of others, you concluded early on in life that faith was not a good trait to possess.

Im referring to the analogy of a Leap of Faith. You likely would stand firm until you had evidence.

No, that a Leap of faith is a good idea. You evidently concluded that it was not, hence you never took the leap.
