GOD, if GOD exists simply is complete.God is a little more specific yet still amorphous. You can talk about The Christian God or the Hebrew God or the Hindu Gods or the Islamic God but that doesn't tell us much at all since there is still no such unique specific thing.Then we get to god where there can be specificity. There is the god from Genesis 1 and the god from Genesis 2 and Ganesha and Thor and Allah and the god Faith markets and the god Spruel marketed and the god MacArthur marketed and the god you like and Coyote and Turtle and ... Again, there is no God marketed by Christians but only gods.And no, I do not think the god most Christians market is an improvement on anything.

Apparently you include the Hebrew text of Esther as a modern fraud. That’s where the name Ahasuerus comes from.And of course, if you read it, it is pretty obvious that it is a story.But you can continue to exalt bad judgement if you wish. Just don’t get upset if people laugh when you try to use your good judgement as an argument.

It's been understood to be history until "modern scholarship" got its paws on it.

Because traditions - founded on assumption are infallibly right ? No matter where the evidence points ? Why ?

the modern scholars are predominantly unbelievers. They should not be allowed to say anything about the Bible. Theoretically they should be able to be objective but it turns out in reality they can't. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Objectivity is the last thing you want.As I said, I have had occasion to check what the scholars say - and they turned out to be right. Yet when I check what Christians say they are often wrong.But of course that is why you would like the scholars silenced.

And there we see the true colors, the true evil of Faith and her Fellow Travelers; they oppose Free Speech, Reality, Honesty and the Constitution.In the Name of the God she created all others who do not follow Faith's Law should be silenced.

By which you mean that nobody should be allowed to disagree with your beliefs about the Bible.But, for instance if you actually look at the Book of Daniel the end times prophecies do agree remarkably well with the period of the Maccabean revolt. Daniel 8 even tells us that the end times will occur while the Diadochi kingdoms still exist. It all fits and it all makes sense. Trying to chop it up and say that these bits are about the period leading up,to the Maccabean revolt and these bits are about Jesus and these bits are about our future doesn’t fit well and doesn’t make sense. The scholars are right.You’re free to dislike or refuse to accept those facts - but they are facts.

It seems you are fluent in Newspeak Faith.But there is a bigger problem.A scholar who believes that the Bible is as it appears, just the work of man filled with contradictions, factual errors, myth, fantasy and ambiguity is still a believer in the Bible.And no one has a clue what you mean by "given any AUTHORITY over the Bible" so you have some 'splainin to do.Maybe you mean no one who does not believe what YOU believe perhaps? The Bible is God's word, it's full of references to supernatural things the unbelieving "scholars" can't be honest about.
