I don't know who George Birkett is but I'd bet he isn't God or Moses or Samuel or any of God's chosen prophets.

I saw that story about the polar bear and the sled dog too. Animals are so lovable. There are lots of animal stories of the ark type of this thread, many at You Tube. where they came to people to help them, such as drowning deer who get into a boat, in fact more than one story of that kind, a kangaroo even that put its paws on the rescue boat, a mother fox trusting her helpers with her babies, elephants rescued when their mothers were killed show affection for the woman who took care of them, a lion who was helped by a woman hugs her, and lots more stories like that.
Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Not sure where that reaction comes from, but, yeah, any creature that seeks refuge we feel compelled to try to protect.
I think that that compulsion alone validates us as a species. There's a video out there from Alaska. A polar bear approaches a sled dog chained up. Predator zeroing onto prey. But then the dog takes a playful pose and the polar bear responds in kind with playful behavior.
Behavior is complex. Interspecies behavior is complex. The interplay of the two can be marvelous.
Perhaps we were programmed that way.

and when it is a forest fire instead of a flood?
The same kind of behavior is seen in response to forest fires.
But for some reason creationists don't correlate that with the works of god/s
Why is that?

Factually true. So we have evidence that creatures who normally stay away from humans will seek refuge during a flood.

I am not the one asserting. My statement in response to your assertion just is. Are you denying the scientific method?

This is a total non-sequitur as Jar's statement about there never being a world wide flood since people have existed is a scientific fact. So how would him stating this fact equate to denying the scientific method?

Aren't you asserting that there *has* been a world-wide flood since humans have existed?
My statement in response to your assertion just is.
And Jar is asserting the opposite, that there *hasn't* been a world-wide flood since humans have existed?
Are you denying the scientific method?
Now there's a weird one. How can a statement of position, particularly one supported by all the evidence, be a denial of the scientific method?
Somehow this Coffee House thread is beginning to look like a flood discussion topic. If actual meaningful discussion breaks out I'll move the thread.

Welcome back, you old rat. I was just thinking about you the other day. I remember you as a man with a mind of his own.
Of course there never was an Ark. It's just a story and Christians almost always miss the point of the story.

The Bible was written by men.
Written by men who were inspired by God, making their words His words.
Unless you think you are God, your words are also the words of a human.
My words ARE words of a human, a human who nevertheless takes God's Word very seriously and prays for His guidance.
