Topic Proposal Issues

I would suggest that all of EvC is already a humour forum. The only thing about creationism that isn't funny is the fact that they want their jokes taught in school as an alternaive to science. If somebody is offended by the abbreviation "Xian", we won't be able to say anything at all that wouldn't insult anybody.I actually like brennakimmi's idea, but if we have to do reverse cartwheels in the name of political corretness, I don't think it's worth it. Let's just stick with people saying what they want and the admins slapping those who cross the line.

If the topic was promoted, I might take a shot or two (and I've been known to keep shooting as long as anything moves. )But I barely keep to the Forum Guidelines. I'm not interested in any external rules like, "You can't say this or that." If it's mythical, I'm gonna say it's mythical.If that's not allowed, I'll be part of the deafening silence.

Wasn't there a topic a couple of years ago where somebody claimed the earth's core was a gigantic diamond? Maybe simple's topic would fit there.

Personally, I have no problem with moderators promoting their own topics. There are probably a lot of members who could produce good topics without moderator input.However, like the peer review system in science, it's good to have a second opinion about whether or not there's a beam in your eye.
