Re: Keyes
I do love Alan Keyes. I wish he'd run in this election. If Trump was endorsing pedophilia of course that would be a deal breaker for me.
But Keyes raises an interesting point about the Electoral College. As he reads the Constitution, apparently we elect the Electors and they have the final say. THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO VOTE FOR EITHER TRUMP OR HILLARY. So far as I've understood it, if they decide not to vote for Trump, that automatically means voting for Hillary, but it's a whole new situation if they don't have to vote for Hillary either.

Re: Keyes
He is a Catholic and worked with the Catholic League. I would have thought this a deal breaker for you.
I'm not happy about it but the question is how far the Pope gets into the act. I might have to write him to find out his views on the Vatican. Kennedy however seemed to be pretty independent of Rome. There are actually "Protestants" who are more offensively tied to Rome than some Catholics.
What about Andrew Jackson?

Re: reaching across the aisle
Had in mind the fact that Obama's father was a native Kenyan; Cruz's father was a native Cuban, his parents weren't native Canadians.
And again the documents of Obama's birth in the US were clearly faked.
Yes, I should have said the Constitution. It IS "law" is it not? I'm for rewriting parts of it, since it does provide for the legal channels to change it.

Re: reaching across the aisle
The idea that Obama was a Kenyan citizen is speculation on your part
Thanks only to the fact that his documents are fake fake fake fake fake.
And again, if it's really not a problem to be born in a foreign country, why fake the documents. And oh, they ARE faked.

Re: reaching across the aisle
I am quite willing to say I believe Obama is really a Muslim at heart, no problem at all, don't need to prove anything about his birth to say that. Also a Marxist, totally a Marxist. He's betrayed the country in multiple ways through his anti-American beliefs, those being two of them.
No, the issue of his birth is a matter of evidence, period. I believe he was born in Kenya, based on the evidence I gave a number of posts ago: the mailman particularly, the obvious fakery of the documents, the grandmother. I don't NEED him to be born in Kenya; the fact is he was. Period.
If it makes no difference to his legality as President, fine, I've been corrected, but the fact is that the documents were faked, the truth is he was born in Kenya, and if he's legal anyway there's still the question why the Left went to so much trouble to "prove" it's not so.
I guess RAZD thinks Alan Keyes is a white man.

Re: reaching across the aisle
Why is the question not 'Why did the right go to so much trouble to try to prove he was from Kenya given it doesn't matter?'?
Because we thought it mattered. But we didn't go to any trouble, we just looked at the fake stuff the Left came up with and saw the truth.
We aren't friends any more, Mod, if you think we need more Muslims.
I say all these things knowing that eventually I'll be shown to be right. I may be dead by then, who knows, but it will come out eventually.

qualifications for President
Yes Trump could still turn a lot of us who voted for him against him. I’m not so much concerned that he won’t appoint a prosecutor for Hillary since I know there are reasons why it might be best not to; but calling the Clintons good people ranks up there for me with Bush’s Islam is a religion of peace — especially after what Trump said about Bill’s mistreatment of women and Hillary’s attacks on them. I’ll give Trump a pass on declaring Obama an American although I strongly disagree. (I'm moving this discussion over to the thread Percy designated)

Re: Feeling Post Election Trauma
I have never seen anything quite like the grief being felt by the majority of American voters who did not vote for Donald Trump.
I guess you didn't recognize the grief felt by the rest of us eight years ago and four years ago. Because we really don't exist or something. Now we are happy happy happy. Can't happen of course. Only leltists are human beings, only leftists' feelings count.

Re: Feeling Post Election Trauma
There is a difference between a l[p]ack of liars whining that they didn't get what they wanted
Pack for lack of course. Good description of exactly what we've seen from the left since they lost. Pack of liars beyond belief, so bad you guys didn't even know you were going to lose you'd lied to yourselves so much about what Americans want. "Whining" is rather weak for what we've seen though. Temper tantrums on a violent scale. You guys understand absolutely nothing. You live in such an enclosed fantasy world. Such bad losers a bunch of you poor sad souls have been trying since November 8 to steal the election (since the efforts before that date couldn't defeat us) and still plotting, probably fro months to come. Peaceful exchange of power, ha! Only when the civilized side has to give in, and that is not your side. Hilary would have been the disaster, on top of the disaster of Obama. YOu don't get it, though, don't want to get it, I guess.
Funny how what you say about us is as usual true of you. The killers of democracy are your side.

Re: Feeling Post Election Trauma
This is true, but why are the stupid making not just stupid choices, but nasty, evil choices? It's not random stupid, it's millions of people voting for horrid and dangerous.
I just Don't get that.
I don't either. I just do not get Hillary or Obama supporters. Not just stupid but nasty evil horrid and dangerous. I really really do not get it.

Re: Feeling Post Election Trauma
Faith doesn't seem to understand that what is being mourned is not the loss of the election but the loss of rationality, discernment, and compassion at the top.
For sure I don't understand how anyone could see it that way. The idea that there is any rationality whatever in the Democratic Party just has me blinking compulsively; the idea that there is any genuine compassion in the Democratic Party, or Hillary herself, is utterly mind-boggling; Discernment? No. The Left lives in a cocoon of inverted values and understanding. They took leave of reality years ago. This is why you cannot understand the simple honest people who wanted Trump instead, in spite of his flaws. His flaws are infinitely preferable to what the Left calls the virtues of their people. Blink blink blink blink.
The Republicans who bemoaned Trump are also out of touch, contaminated with the Leftist mental aberrations.
The idea that Hillary could have in any way at all been personally preferable to Trump is flabbergasting, whatever Trump's personal flaws. WHATEVER.
Hopelessness and despair for our democracy? YOU BET that's what we saw happening with Obama and all the more so with Hillary. WHY DON'T YOU GET IT? IT's PRECISELY our democracy that the Left has been killing for years now. Precisely. What I despair of is people who can't see this.
Trump will actually be a decent President despite all the leftist lies and smears.
Deplorable human being? No, you are looking through Leftist lenses and magnifying the faults of the man. HILLARY is far more deplorable and Obama too, but you are all blind to the truth about them, utterly out of touch with reality.
