Gigantopithecus:
This critter is known only from jaws and teeth, and the height/upright posture is based on the wider angle of the jaws--as a critter reaches bipedal locomotion the jaws have to spread at the base to allow the various parts of the neck to fit between them. Not all agree that Giganto had upright posture.
In any case, Giganto is known from fossils dated perhaps as much as 9 million years ago to about 100,000 years ago. As such, it overlapped in time with modern humans, but was not generally found in the same locations.
So, creationists believing in "giants" in biblical times have to:
1) account for the antiquity, far more than the 4,004 BC they often advocate, of Giganto fossils.
2) account for the lack of fossils or bones from Giganto within the time of human history.
3) account for the vast differences between Giganto jaws and teeth and those of modern humans from the same time period. And
4) just provide
some evidence for the many claims made about giants.
When you actually look at the evidence, Giganto is far more likely to be the direct ancestor to Bigfoot than to be part of a race of giants during biblical times.
