The TRUE reason for the EvC controversy ...
I'd like to put my vote in for the promotion of Gone full circle's proposal, The TRUE reason for the EvC controversy. I've never encountered his/her thinking on the subject before -- that is, that there could have been such a complete difference between the original Creation and the earth as we know it since the Fall, even to a different physics -- and it looks interesting, worth exploring.

Off-topic "virgin" comment
Hi Moose:
Re: http://EvC Forum: Francis Collins and Theistic Evolution (Re: the book "The Language of God") -->EvC Forum: Francis Collins and Theistic Evolution (Re: the book "The Language of God")
I was hoping I could get away with one off-topic comment, but then jar answered me so maybe it should go somewhere else. But I don't think the existing options you suggested will work. I do NOT want to get into arguing about Isaiah 7:14 again. That one has been done to death. I just wanted to say that there is a theological REASON why Jesus had to be born of a virgin -- It wasn't just to dazzle people or however people read that. So I'm not sure what to suggest, how to answer jar, or even if there is more to say on the subject calling for a new PNT. Suggestions?

Re: Off-topic "virgin" comment
Thanks, that may be the best advice, but it's much more than a "joke." I may let it pass anyway. Or consider a new PNT if I think it's worth it.

Re: Off-topic "virgin" comment
Sometimes an off topic comment seems to go only a few posts and fizzle it seems to me but OK, it was a bad risk. For the sake of clarity I added an Edit to the offending post that may clarify the point that makes it controversial and end the rabbit trail.
I believe this is the appropriate thread, however, for requesting that jar's follow-up proposal about God's jeans NOT be promoted. If someone wants to discuss the point raised in my off-topic post in a new thread it ought to be more respectfully framed, IMHO.

The only way that thread is going to be functional is if people stop interrogating me as if I were a scientist which I'm not, and try to deal with what they understand to be YEC objections.
What *exactly* WOULD happen to workaday science if you had to work with a different time frame in mind? Tell ME since you think it would be so devastating. Explain how FACTS, DATA and hypothesizing about them would be specifically affected by having a different time frame in mind.
What is really frustrating is having to encounter these ridiculously irrelevant straw man arguments in the middle of such a discussion. Do I really have to answer again this stupid idea that YEC's are challenging the kind of science that has brought us technological advances? Are people that ignorant about what YEC is trying to say? Do I really have to deal with this imputing to me the utterly ridiculous idea that I must think that a mile's deep stack of sediments was laid down SIMULTANEOUSLY?? Are you THINKING?
I'd just as soon the thread stays closed since dealing with this kind of stupidity is not worth it. Of course you can open it and I'll just leave if you like and you can congratulate each other on your straw men.

That's what I said Omni. I'll leave and you can all congratulate each other since you won't have a YEC to set you straight.

A Vote against promoting jar's topic of YE dating
I don't want to engage in a Great Debate with jar on this subject. As you say in your first post to his proposal, there is really nothing more to say than that YE is based on the Biblical framework.

Re: Faith's PNT regarding GMOs
I find myself getting into new things and farther away from this topic so it would be a while before I got back to it. If you think you have a handle on the information, how about you start the thread? I may or may not catch up with it later.
