The actual "code" is "You Will Crush the Guilty Saddam and the Month of Eyar (May in 2003) Will be Restful" Obviously it is not "about' a formal end to hostilities, nor does it predict an exact date. And it is in fact incorrect since May was NOT restful for the troops in Iraq.

That Biblecodedigest.com site... why are they called the Isaac Newton Bible Code Research Society? What's Isaac Newton got to do with it? The Rock Hound

Because Newton was pretty well into Gematria - a kind of Biblical numerology. He spent a lot of his mathematical genius calculating the date of Armaggedon, the number, star-sign and postal code of the beast etc. Just a moment... BTW - so was John Napier, the Scottish mathematician and discoverer of logarithms. He apparently only got round to working on logarithms because the calculations required to demonstrate that the Pope was the beat of the Apocalypse were so abstruse.

Re: Don't be silly ...
quote: "the work of the Lord is fraudulent" [Jer.48:10].
Which translation is that? Do you know? Here is what I find (the whole verse): "Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and curesed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood." King James Version "Cursed is he who does the work of the LORD with slackness; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword frm bloodshed." Revised Standard Version "Cursed be those witholding their swords from your blood, refusing to do the work that God has given them!" Living Bible db

the number, star-sign and postal code of the beast
668, as you probably already know, is the neighbor of the Beast.

I thought I was the only one who fondly remembers Quebec punkers My Dog Popper, whose (to my knowledge) only album '668 - Neighbor of the Beast' was graced with John Wayne Gacy cover art and the inspiring rock anthem "I Lost My Job To A Guy Named Gino". Thanks for the memories. Having been born on the 6th of June, year of our Lord 1966 (that's right, sinners, 6-6-66) as well as six minutes after my twin brother, I've had to bear a lot of abuse from the amateur numerologists I meet every time I have to show my ID for that rack of Harpoon Ale. I've always suspected that my brother is the evil twin, but maybe I just don't get out as much as I should. Anyway, I think the debate over Bible prophecy is irrelevant for a number of reasons, the most important being that prophecy is only understood as such AFTER the event has come to pass. The Oracle of Delphi at least had a sense of humor: "Attack now and an empire will fall (maybe theirs, maybe yours, we'll just have to wait and see)." What catastrophic events were ever AVOIDED due to prophetic foreknowledge? In what instances can this prophecy have been said to have INFLUENCED people's actions? Can prophecies ever be recognized as such before they have come to pass? In short, what GOOD are they? As my evil twin once opined on this very subject: "Prophecy is useless in hindsight. If amytropic lateral sclerosis were known as Lou Gehrig's Disease before Lou Gehrig were diagnosed with it, now that would be impressive!" [This message has been edited by MrHambre, 07-02-2003]

668, The Neighbour of the Beast
As in the suggested title for a sequel to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's _Good Omens_

Re: 668, The Neighbour of the Beast
I am not surprised . All the things that man made with the exception of the moral ones are controlled by God or other spiritual entities . It means that man are not deterministic neither indeterministic but "Semideterministic"Maybe i will write a topic on that one someday. There is a diference between Divinal revelation and Divinal control. In the first you know something God tells you.In the second God uses you to transmit a hidden message even if you are making a secular book and didnt perceive it.

Prophesy in codes protected
Mr. hambre, You ask,
What catastrophic events were ever AVOIDED due to prophetic foreknowledge? In what instances can this prophecy have been said to have INFLUENCED people's actions? Can prophecies ever be recognized as such before they have come to pass? In short, what GOOD are they? Satinover, in his book on the Bible Codes describes how they were used to predict the day of the Scud attack (Jan 18), and prepare the people. Rips, in the BBC interview noted on the Demon thread, confirms the prediction. The preparation resulted in a scud attack that destroyed over a thousand residential units and several hundred other buildings, with no loss of life whatsoever. There is also the marvelous story told of the Armenian immigration to california, inspired by a prophecy given by a small boy in 1850. The Armenians were told they were to be slaughtered if they stayed in Armenia, but were to go to California to escape. They were given 50 years to prepare. Many went, and have prospered. This story is by Demos Shakarian, in "The Happiest People on Earth." Stephen
