I've read all of them. Please help me understand something.
So, the whole point of the Golden Path is to
(1) Push humanity to spread out beyond known space so that no one organization could destroy it,
(2) Push humanity to innovate new ways for space travel that isn't so dependent on the navigators and the planet Arrakis, and
(3) Create some humans that can hide from prescience
to ensure humanity's survival against an unknown force in the future that would eventually hunt down all humans until humanity is extinct.
So, the unknown enemy turns out to be thinking machines, yes? And yet, how humanity survived and how the evermind was defeated and banished to the alternate universe have nothing to do with what I outlined above.
In other words, was the golden path really necessary? Why couldn't Paul or Leto II see who the unknown enemy will be?
If you say the word "gullible" slowly, it sounds like oranges. Go ahead and try it.
