Re: Nothing wrong with popularity if you're looking for activity
Curiously I always took having a high rating as meaning that I hadn't annoyed enough people ...
So did I. Whenever my rating got to high, I used to post to one of Faith's threads. Now that the jeer button is gone, what's the point of doing that anymore?

Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846)
I believe that a scientist looking at nonscientific problems is just as dumb as the next guy.

Re: Message Ratings Now Working
This raw rating is then normalized with all other member ratings on a scale of 1 to 10. Members with less than 5 messages with votes receive no rating.
My rating seems a lot more volatile under the current system. It seems like every time I cheer for a Son Goku message, and for some reason I cannot resist doing so, my own rating drops 3 points.

I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him. Galileo Galilei

Nobody likes a tattle tale.

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King
If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Scott Adams
