No disrespect taken!
We don't typically use the word 'dudine' here. I had to look it up in order to poke fun at you. Turns out it was coined back in the 1800s. By the way I, my wife is traveling this week. I called my wife here this evening to check on whether things were okay between us given that marriage had been redefined right underneath our very feet. She told me that she still loves me even though I spend too much time on EvC. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Today in the US, marriage is officially for everyone legally able to marrywhich has always been the case. Today is a historic day that even you cannot ruin, Jon. Read some poetry, dude! Love is officially for everyone! Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. I'm only talking about being punished for standing on God's word as we always have Given that you don't own either a bakery or a tuxedo rental shop, it occurs to me that you are in little danger of real or perceived persecution. If you simply manage to not spit on some passing lesbians and if you can avoid tying a gay teen to a fence in Wyoming you can avoid legal prosecution completely. The above situation applies to about 99.99% of all people including Christians. Shouldn't be all that hard. Yes, Christians were fed to lions back in the day. You trivialize their martyrdom with your whining. Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. True, murder is something else. I'm only talking about being punished for standing on God's word as we always have, as Christians always have for two thousand years. Poor poor America to criminalize us for that, because God won't put up with it for long. What does it do while still "putting up"? It is just so bittersweet to observe the horrible state of affairs that devout christians have been put to. From all-powerful to equal, from judgmental to neutral and from vicious to tame. Boo-effing-hoo.

God won't put up with it for long Your god has "put up with" and indeed instigated death, torture, abuse, pain and misery on an unimaginable scale for millenia. He has shown no interest in the suffering of innocents up to now, I suspect he will show even less interest in the claimed suffering of bigots after this ruling.

Faith writes: Poor poor America to criminalize us for that, because God won't put up with it for long. Oh I expect he'll get over it. We can expect a drought and maybe a shower of frogs but then he'll just shrug and wonder whether he got it quite right when he made us this way. But as we're apparently made in his own image, he's got some thinking to do.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. Today in the US, christians everywhere are foaming at the mouth. Emergency rooms across America are overflowing with convulsing christians. Nonsense. Many Christians support the right for homosexuals to marry. A majority of Americans in general also already supported homosexual marriage. This was not that big of a deal when the Supreme Court ruled; politicians and the media just made it seem as though it was so they could continue to pull food off your plate and shingles off your house.Love your enemies!

Most of the American co-workers involved in the project we're working on are devout Christians and none of them has any problems with gay marriages.

I know more gay Christians than Christians against same sex marriage, and I live in Texas. Guess my social circle would be considered unusual by some people. I was pleasantly surprized altogether - hoping that this decision would in a way cement the USA's stance of "...and liberty for all" but then I made a mistake of visiting...let's say apparently not very progressive websites on my google-led journey through the internets.
The vitriol is totally and utterly incomprehensible. I knew that there might be people who are a bit peeved that their bigotry cannot continue but boy was I in for a shock. People of "The Good Book" came across as anything but - while I do know that there are compassionate Christians - even so that they are good human beings - the utter and relentless hate and evil portrayed by the commenters of theblaze.com are beyond my capability to understand. I dare say that if they in any way form or fashion represent the Evangelical American, they are pretty close to those of ISIS. Full of hate and venom and NOTHING even remotely good or decent. Huh huh!! Anyway, I'm happy that a person as "conservative" as Judge Kennedy can write such striking and compassionate statement.

I think it's mostly the LOUD Christians who are protesting. If it wasn't gay marriage, they'd find something else for their doom-and-gloom-saying. It has nothing to do with religion, morality, etc. It's just a pathological need to be LOUD.
