Are you forgetting the evidence that shows skin color is primarily a reaction to solar intensity and relates also to the production of Vitamin D?

I suggest you pick up a couple of good books on human races.
Two basic texts you can find used:
--Human Variation: Races, Types, and Ethnic Groups, by Molnar
--Human Races, by Garn
