Hello All!
I'm debating between two or three pens, and I cannot think of which one to purchase.
The first one is a Lanbitou 502 Gold and Black pen with a fine hooded nib. I like the color of the pen, and the gold and black combination is very nice looking. It actually makes me think of a New York city department store with shiny metals contrasted against darkened windows. What I also like a lot about it is that the clip is rounded on the end. My experience with cheap pens has been that the clip will wiggle from side to side slightly and scrape off the paint on the cap. I would hope that the roundness of the clip's end would help prevent some of that wear.
I went to FPN to get an idea of the quality of the Lanbitou 502, but could not find a review there. However, I did find a review of another pen, the Lanbitou 866, which I have now put into my list of considerations. I haven't had a chance to look over this one too much, but at a first glance I can say I like the sterile office look of the pen, especially its clip which is very simple with no design and no other function than to hold the pen tight against the cloth of a shirt-pocket. I've found a couple of other pictures of the 866 at FPN, but not yet enough to form a solid opinion of its look yet.
Finally, there is the Jackson W 205. If I got this pen, I would definitely go with the dark-wood look. The nib on this pen is quite simple and nothing fancy, much like the nib on the Vector. I think there is something very pleasing about the fake wood look, similar to an older television set or station wagon; it's something classic but not oldperhaps 'retro'. What I further like about this pen is that it is shaped perfectly so that when posted the cap does not stick out beyond the rest of the body of the pen. While this seems to be the design for most of the pens I own, this pen seems to do it better than those pens.
So there they are. My three possible pens I'd like to buy. I can only choose one, though (okay, maybe two), so I have to make my choice a good one.
Which should I choose?
Jon

I like choice #2, the Lanbitou 866
Bought!
I decided it is a pen that I need more than the other.

Re: A few to consider.
I looked up the Yard-o-Led a little while ago. It seems like a really nice pen.
Unfortunately, at a paycheck and a half minimum, those models are a little out of my budget.

At it Again
Well; I'm looking at a few again. One that really has me interested is this one:I watched a couple of reviews and I got the impression that its a shot in the dark for getting one that will write. I've had other Hero pens and they were pretty decent, so I am thinking the poor quality might have something to do with the inadequacy of the general technology for the task (kind of like how almost all CO detectors suck).
Then there's:Never heard of the brand before. The pen looks straight-forward and a little neat, but I have my hesitations about the brand.
My girlfriend thought this one looked cheap, but I kind of liked it:I've had Baoers and they were alright.
Anyway; that's where I'm at. I'm not looking to go over about $5, and these seem to be the winners so far.

Re: At it Again
I bought two bottles of Quink a while ago (a black and a blue) and still have them. I even divided each into smaller bottles so I could keep ink in my old office and at home and all the jars are still full.
So it lasts a while; and you can get the ink the same place you get the pens.
I usually get a big bag o' pens from the dollar store.
I used to like those, but I've noticed that they almost all now have the goofy click mechanism (where you have to push the clip in to retract the tip). It drives me nuts. I also end up with more pens than I can use and most get lost...

Re: At it Again
I don't know if you have Office Depots in Canada, but they also sell fountain pens and accessories. Except they don't sell bottled ink, just disposable cartridges.

Re: At it Again
I went with the Hero 3266 360 Gray.
The seller emailed me this morning telling me it had shipped and that it would take 15-45 Chinese days to arrive (USA 10-15 days).
I don't know what that means, but I hope it's here within the month.
