Interpretations which explain all of the evidence, not just your layman's understanding of a few "complete" columns, have a better place here. Your place is to explain all of it. Not just the GC/GS portion. Not just one other place that some guy you read on the internet said was weird.All of it.That is where understanding other people who study this for a living comes in. Even if their ideas about age are wrong, to you, they should know whether or not a "strata" is composed of a specific type of mineral or not. You do not. You have not studied any of it. You have examined diagrams and digested definitions, but not understood most of it, pretending you have, because superficially you can make an argument and most people here will engage you, but if someone calls you on specifics, all I hear are crickets or variations of "this is what I have understood and that is sacrosanct..no new knowledge can change the fact that what I built my opinion on was an ultimate truth."

As far as I can see she hasn't digested any definitions. She makes 'em up. E.g. geologic column.

THE Geologic Column is what I've been focused on, A geologic column may or may not relate to THE Column. It has to do with its relation to the Geo Time Scale.

There is no one thing that is THE Geological Column. That's an abstraction used for teaching.In reality, different places on the surface are going to have different geological columns below them.

"THE Geologic Column" is an abstraction and isn't the focus of this thread.This thread makes the point that a geologic column exists beneath every point on the globe, and that everywhere sedimentary deposits are accumulating the geologic column is growing at that location. For those who will only accept geologic columns made up of sedimentary layers, Message 15 and Message 45 describe examples of sedimentary deposits accumulating atop such geologic columns.--Percy
