Hello, welcome to the site,
You should try to avoid typing to all caps if you can, you might make the admin a bit cranky.
First off, this is a debate forum not a christian support site. I suggest that if you are have trouble believing in christ you should stop reading the bible and try looking at a non-religious source to answer your questions. And no, the devil isn't trying to deceive you. You brain is just thinking independently, this is a good thing. Also you need to realize that the bible is a book. Nothing more, not everything you read in it is true and not everything you are told is true.

IS THIS THE ENEMY (DEVIL) TRYING TO BRING ME DOWN??
No, it's your brain telling you something your heart doesn't want to hear - all religions are phoney.
But if you want to follow Christ, follow his example - stand up for the weak, turn the other cheek, and recognize that everybody fails sooner or later. That's a great way to live, even if you don't believe that the wine turns to blood (but is still wine, too) or that it's possible to have a virgin birth.

"I WANT TO KNOW WHY DID JESUS CHOOSE MARY TO BIRTH CHRIST?"- ok it was not wronge of you to say this but it would have been better for you to say why did GOD choose marry. even though Jesus and GOD are all one thing. once again i do not belive in GOD or a GOD. i am just telling this kid what the bible says, and once again i do like using the bible instead of mathmatics to prove that God does not exist.
your palzie, Zach 5

Cygnus,
Perhaps you could demonstrate the extistence of both God & Mary to be real beyond reasonable doubt, rather than being mythological characters. The question you ask would then become relevant. At the moment it's in the league of did Thor choose to be the god of thunder, or did he draw lots?
Mark

Hi,
HI, I'M NEW ON THIS SITE, AND I AM ALSO TYING TO FOLLOW CHRIST.
Why?
WHy don't you try to be yourself and follow yourself, why the need to follow a 2000 year old Jewish charismatic? Be yourself.
I JUST HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. FIRST, I WANT TO KNOW WHY DID JESUS CHOOSE MARY TO BIRTH CHRIST?
Because Mary was born without original sin and only she was pure enough to carry a sinless baby.
I WANT TO WHY HE SAYS THAT IT WILL BE EASY TO FOLLOW HIM, WHEN I'M FINDING THAT IT'S NOT ALL THAT EASY?
It is easy to follow him, you just disconnect your common sense when it comes to these problems you are talking about.
Do good to others, love them that hate you, do these things with Jesus in your heart and you will be saved.
IS THIS THE ENEMY (DEVIL) TRYING TO BRING ME DOWN??
Christians would agree that the devil is trying to drag you down or that God is testing your faith in some way. But it is actually neither.
Christianity is a psychological conditioning, they will do anything to maintain this fantasy that they have. If you are having doubts it HAS to be the devil or a test because they cannot accept that some people simply realise that Christianity is untrue, I suggest that it isn't the devil giving you problems, you have probably just grown up.
I wont recommend any Bible verses as I do not wish to be guilty of keeping this ancient outdated myth alive. It has brought enough pain and suffering into the world and is time that people realised that it is only a collection of ancient literature. It is like a group of people some time in the future finding the book 'The Lord of the Rings' and believing that everything in that book is true and historically accurate. Then they twist and contort everything they can lay their hands on to try and make the book appear accurate, They also indoctrinate their kids with this nonsense and the next thing you knnow 'The Lord of the Rings' is God's Word.
Brian.

Hi, Believer. Welcome!
1. This is the faith and belief thread so I would think you are at the right place for your question. My apologies for taking so long to show up.
2. I've been a Christian for 58 years now, having received Jesus as saviour at age 10. When I was first saved by Christ I had doubts etc but having good teachers at Sunday School and Church, I got grounded in the Bible and have followed it's teachings happily since.
3. Three things are necessary, imo in order to become a strong Christian:
A. Read some of the Bible DAILY.
B. Pray to God in Jesus's name DAILY.
C. Go to church and Sunday or Sabbath school ONCE EVERY WEEK.
(Pick a church which is evangelical and teaches the born again salvation experience.)
Why did Jesus choose Mary? He didn't. God, the father chose her because she and Joseph were God fearing devout ones who he knew would be right for the purpose. Also she and Joseph were from the lineage of King David as required for him to be the prophesied messiah. She was from Bethlehem as prophesied, etc, etc.
Jesus said, "Take up your cross and follow me." He warned that folks would hate and ridicule you because they hated him, but all the many blessings of Christianity plus those pearly gates and streets of gold in the end will be worth it all.
For reading I suggest I John chapter five, (near the end of the New Testament) for assurance of salvation. Also read the gospel of John and Romans for beginners to get you established.
Get with other believers who will help you along in Christianity. May God bless you! buz

Re: HELP
You must read about Christ if you seriously want to believe.
I can help you if you ask specific questions, but it will be hard to convince you in one post.
who could tell me a GOOD reason to believe in God
Ofcourse you do not have to go to church to know God. One reason I can think of is that the meaning of your life is a lot. God knew our names before Creation. Christ died so everyones sins can be forgiven if they repent.
Whosoever cometh to me and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like; He is like a man who built a house and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded upon a rock - Jesus Christ

Don't listen to people who try and give you doubt. Just remember: there's no way anything could be incorrect in the millenia-old oral traditions and legends of a random nomadic desert shepherd tribe compiled and merged between conflicting versions by committee, with texts incorporated or excluded at times by voting, into the highly translated belief system that exists today. How could anything in such a system have errors?
Besides, remember: Jesus loves you. The books written by people trying to convert people to their viewpoint says so!

Bad form Rei, if someone asked a Topic question about evolution I would not try and convert him . - This is a Faith and Belief Topic, people HAVE asked to believe - your post was trashy, I prefer your quality posts dealing with evolution!

Re: HELP
Do some archive search on some of my prophecy topics and do a topic on either refuting some of these or comment on them within the forum and topic. Fulfilled Biblical prophecy is one good reason to believe the Bible is true.
