It's ok mate - we're in the Matrix, don't forget. All we need do is believe, and we can grow a new one.
Actually, all you have to do is believe that reality isn't real, and all problems fade away. Makes you wonder why someone would worry about AIDS or foreskins at all.
Unless, or course, reality really is real, and someone would actually quite like it if real science really solved his real problems ;-)

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Re: Hacks
So is there any current evidence that uncircumcised men...today...are a greater health risk?
The capacity of the uncircumcised two thirds, to do their part in sustaining two thirds of the world's population, suggests not ;-)

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Re: Hacks
Very good point !
And if He hasn't, just imagine the bragging rights you'd get if you were God's mohel.

Re: In before the fundies....
Since the foreskin's purpose seems to be to accommodate larger erections, can we therefore assume that The Fall resulted in bigger boners ?

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Oh, I think a blind man has.

Velikovsky was a genius who made Albert Einstein pale in comparison.
Well let's see:
1. Einstein.
- Supporters: virtually the entire scientific community, barring a few crackpots.
- Detractors: a few religious fundamentalists, who want science to fit a bronze age story.
- Evidence: immensely in favor - eg, every one of billions of journeys with a SatNav shows Einstein's theories to be correct.
2. Velikovsky
- Supporters: a few religious fundamentalists, who want science to fit a bronze age story.
- Detractors: virtually the entire scientific community, barring a few crackpots.
- Evidence: immensely against - eg, every large ice core drilled since his book fails to support Velikovsky's theories.
Who to believe, who to believe.....

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?
