Re: For the last time
Not a good way to start off by insulting people.
All I asked for is:
1. We use words with their accepted meanings. This enables effective communication. Without that you might as well try to communicate with me in Fanagalo. A language both you and I can neither speak, nor understand.
2. Provide references and evidence for your wild claims. We are in the science forums here, after all.
To me it seems as if you're just here for preaching purposes. Not debate.

You're jumping the gun, again.
First provide references for your first claim you made on this thread.

Luckily your beliefs don't count for anything on science forums.
Those references for your wild claims, please.

I do believe your pride and your unwillingness to admit you do not know the 3rd element has derailed you . . . science is indeed very interesting .. especially when you have the courage to follow it to its logical conclusion . . . you'll need patience and an attention span
Still playing games. Curiously I don't see your first number guess, so I guess ... your pride and your unwillingness to admit you do not know the number has derailed you . . . science is indeed very interesting .. especially when you have the courage to follow it to its logical conclusion . . . you'll need patience and an attention span ...
Amusingly, nothing you have said so far involves science ... or facts. You're just stale hot air.

Have any evidence?
If there is no evidence for it what's to worry?
And if there is evidence for it then science will accept it.
You just have to have evidence. Got any?

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.
Belief gets in the way of learning--Robert A. Heinlein
How can I possibly put a new idea into your heads, if I do not first remove your delusions?--Robert A. Heinlein
It's not what we don't know that hurts, it's what we know that ain't so--Will Rogers
If I am entitled to something, someone else is obliged to pay--Jerry Pournelle
If a religion's teachings are true, then it should have nothing to fear from science...--dwise1

Re: For the last time
not at all . . . you still haven't displayed the third element .. hint: .. it has nothing to do with matter or energy
Science knows currently of around 118 elements (including artificial ones generated fleetingly in labs under extreme conditions).
As Dr Adequate points out the third element in Atomic Number order is Lithium - a white silvery alkali metal that is highly reactive and never found in free atomic form in nature but in compounds instead.
Is this what we are 'scared of' - reactive lithium metal? Science knows of no other specific 'third element' so it sounds to me like a case of "You're making shit up".
By the way - just out of courtesy so you know who you are debating on EvC, many of the people on here are actual practising professional scientists with decades of experience in their various fields. We have on this site, theoretical physicists, archaeologists, geneticists, geologists, mathematicians ...hell the list goes on and on.
They can also tell simply from the way you phrase a sentence (as I can - though I'm not a practising scientist) that you are certainly not one yourself - it stands out a mile!
A little humility will go a long way here. Remember the old adage:
"Best to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool, than open it and remove all doubt".

Re: science is your friend

So there you have it the third element, all the atheists are running away in fear and committing suicide, there is chaos everywhere, prison populations have dropped by 0,80 % because of the atheist suicides....
Why should we be afraid of lithium?
Symbol: Li
Category: Alkali metal
Atomic number: 3
Atomic weight: 6.941
State: solid
Melting Point: 453.69 K (180.54˚C)
Boiling Point: 1615 K (1342˚C)
Heat of fusion: 3.00 kJ mol-1
Molar heat capacity: 24.860 kJ mol-1
Heat of vaporization: 147.1 kJ mol-1
Oxidation states: +1,-1 (strongly basic oxide)
Van der waals radius: 182 pm
Covalent radius: 128±7 pm
Electronegativity: 0.98 Pauling Scale
Atomic radius: 152 pm
Whats scary about that?
Or are you talking about the laughable idea of the 5 elements from the dark ages.
Fire is not an element its a chemical reaction that releases heat.
Earth is not an element its made up of molecules and some elements from the periodic table
Water is not an element its a molecule containing an element of oxygen and 2 elements of hydrogen
Metal's can be an element's tough most metals nowadays are compounds
wood is also not an element its made of cellulose an organic compound

Now don't go saying silly stuff like that when all the evidence shows that "Christians" have been among the most successful groups at genocide and doing stuff to folk.

Re: For the last time

Um there is no third element of life. Life in its basic form is a replicating molecule. For that you need matter as in the molecule, and energy thats it.
Ok sure you need space but that's a given.
Are you claiming you need something more to let a molecule replicate itself like magic, well sorry you dont need magic.
Now you might think but we are not a molecule we are made up billions of molecules. Exactly molecules not magic, all following the laws of chemistry in our universe not magic.

The 3rd element is spiders!!?
I always knew there was something fishy about life...
That's my guess, anyway. The 3rd element is either spiders... or I don't know what you're getting at.
science is indeed very interesting .. especially when you have the courage to follow it to its logical conclusion . . .
This one's always fun.
Most people claim that "following science to it's logical conclusion" leads to some sort of heartless wasteland or anarchy apocalypse or something. They're not true, though, of course. They're just the logical conclusion of what some people think are the premises of science. They have the premises wrong... so they reach wrong logical conclusions. But maybe yours is different? Maybe the logical conclusion of science is spiders as well! I don't know why you're so hung up on such things.

science and life
Message 38: well .. before you give up .. you might think about (aside from the evolution debate) how it is now scientifically proven that all life is triune and derives from a source of intelligence . . . I would call this going from point A to B
Message 41: first of all .. you have to display the three elements of life .. matter / energy and ... xxx
Well you haven't said anything else of note since these first two posts other than to say it isn't lithium and it isn't porn.
well it does seem to me that the 3rd element is indeed your greatest fear
Nope, and here's why:
  1. you can't fear something that isn't defined -- do you fear the todal?
  2. your "definition" or "description" of life is erroneous in the first two of your "elements" ... so it doesn't matter what you think or what you claim for your mystical "3rd element" ... it won't make your claim valid.
Rocks are made of matter and they are not life.
Falling water has energy and it is not life.
The sun converts matter into energy and it is not alive.
In science when you try to describe things you do so by those aspects that differentiate what you are describing from things that are not what you are describing. So far you have failed utterly to do this, because what you list applies to non-life as well as life. That makes it a dud, man.
Thus I don't expect your "3rd element" to be anything more than a personal fantasy that is rather irrelevant to the reality of what life is. Especially if you never get off your high horse and stop playing games.
Personally I think you don't want to reveal your precious "3rd element" because you know it will be mocked, disparaged, shown to be irrelevant, and certainly discredited as any kind of scientific discovery.
Message 59:
and I'll bet you don't really want to debate your position
sure I do . . . as soon as you can display the 3rd element or admit you do not know (that's okay) we can continue . . . as I have stated before .. this is an exercise in scientific logic and reason .. not to be derailed or diverted . . . peace & love
I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10 and when you guess it we can move on ... and I'll let you have 10 guesses.
No, you want to play games. Let me know when you get around to something to debate.
Still no number, you must really really really be afraid of guessing. It's not that hard. Or just admit that you have no clue. Of course you WILL be wrong.
That's the game dadman, so play your card or continue to be mocked and laughed at anyway.
