Just wanted to gripe a little bit about the way the forum software re-sizes my avatars. When it does -- whether it is increasing or decreasing the images dimensions -- the image displayed with my posts always appears slightly distorted/obscured compared to the original.
My suggestion would be to limit the pixel dimensions of avatar images to exactly that which is displayable in an actual post and make persons re-size their images with something like photoshop to conform to that standard. If I am not mistaken, resizing with such a tool
before upload onto the forum server should preserve the image resolution.
Then again, maybe the appearance of degrading resolution from the forum software is actually caused by my browser or something and I'm the only one who sees the problem. If others notice what I've described it might be helpful of you to say so so that I might rule this out as a possibility.
At the very least, could someone tell me what the precise displayed dimensions (in pixels) are for the avatars within the actual posts? I figure if I match that myself then the forum software won't need to re-size my avatar image and the distortion could be circumvented.
Thanks all,
