Probably not surprising, america did try to invade Canada to annex it, not a very nice part of history to remember.
The first major campaign of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War was an invasion of Canada. It was a total and utter fiasco.

I'm not a targeted demographic, sigh.
Thanks for the link Theo.
I find history fascinating. I often wonder why Hollywood doesn't produce more films about early american history. Spielberg did "Lincoln," now how about "Washington"? C'mon, . . . besides father of our country, he was a bumbler of military battles, wearer of wooden/animal teeth, womanizing extraordinaire, hemp-grower . . . seems a natural for the big screen.
Or what about a non-fictional account of "Benedict Arnold?" He would be way more interesting than a silly, teen-aged, comic-book-styled movie about "Thor."
No? Well, suppose they cast Will Ferral as "Benedict Arnold," shot the movie in 3D, and had McDonald Happy-Meal tie-ins with french fries in the shape of cannon rammers? It's selling itself. I got the chills just thinking about it. Work with me Hollywood, work with me!

Just wondering if you have been to any of the historical sites?:
Fort George, Old Fort Erie, Navy Hall, Brock's Monument, Laura Secord Homestead and MacKenzie Printery, various battle fields, and battle routes.
I believe I've been to Fort George and maybe also Old Fort Erie on school trips or something when I was in grade school... but even if I did, I don't remember much.
However, I have been to Historic Fort Willow a number of times. It's close by where I live.
(Built as part of the supply chain for the 1812 war, and I've walked small portions of the "Nine Mile Portage" it was linked with).
The pictures on that site show lots of people and horses around the fort... but every time I've ever been there the place is pretty much empty (it's free, just a small donation for parking... the donation isn't even monitored... they don't get lots of money ). Really, it's just a few logs on the ground showing the "actual sizes" of where they think the buildings used to be. But it's cool to go and wonder about what actually happened right on that ground so many years ago.
Going off topic, so I won't continue asking about this.
I don't really have much more to say anyway. Thus caps my knowledge on the subject!
