Never have had the issue here. I can't see Percy having popups on this site. You may have a browser redirect going on. What is.in the pop up?

Nasty spyware and tracking crap. Search for removal directions. Has nothing to do with EVC. I suggest removing ASAP

This is not as big a problem as yenmor is making it seem to be. Search malwarebytes yield manager. Follow directions on the forums to get free support to remove this. I suggest running malwarebytes occasionally. It will.not remove yield manager, but can save you from other crap in the future.

Wiping system clean is a last resort that shouldn't be needed for this situation.

Right hand side of screen move mouse up and down and pops right up. Can't get much easier.

Re: Some of them are pretty smart now
When newbs first start using Win8, there's no indication that you're now supposed to be using the edges and corners to get stuff to show. Its not at all intuitive.
Yes there is. The first time you start up with a new computer or an update, it shows very clearly on screen how to do it. Also, as with anything new there is a level of personal responsibility to learn how things work. Intuitive is such a copout. What people claim as intuitive in an OS is actually what they are used to. A windows user does not feel IOS is intuitive and vice versa. If MS had stayed with the old "intuitive" OS they would have died very quickly. Now they at least have a chance to be relevant going forward.
One month of use and Win8 seems "normal".

Mcafee and norton are crap bloatware. Overpriced shit.
Run MS security essentials and malwarebytes. Occasionally have each do a complete scan. In order for these to be effective you have to update them regularly. MS has daily updates to security essentials and defender.
Security essentials is free, malwarebytes
has a nominal cost.

A long way from the days of dealing with irq's dma and dealing with dip switches. Tracking down irq conflicts was always fun. But was also fun being able to access all the hardware directly.
