Here is an interesting and nostalgic look at your home town that I thought others might enjoy as well. It is an interesting study in the technology at the time as well.

It looks like the roads were in better condition than they are now...

Cooooollll
Absolutely fascinating!! Bizzarre to see things so familiar and yet so different. Most striking thing is how empty and spacious everything looks. Places I cycle through/past/over daily look so clam and clean compared to the gridlocked traffic and thronging masses I experience.
I'm going to show it to some other people and will comment more later.

I agree with Straggler, it's odd to see something that in some ways looks so different and yet so similar. The area around the Thames looks so beautiful, which it still does. The really strange thing is that many places aren't really that different, they're just busier.

The only really significant change is that the blokes wear hats.

History is all about hats.
(I'm a big fan of old movies, especially British ones, so that's the London I know. )

Wonderful London 1924 & 2014
Not sure if there are any other silent film affectionados on the board. I am fascinated by the very early film pioneers such as Georges Mlis. Anyways, I found another early London film at NitrateVille.com - Index page:
This one's a little more creative, blending two centuries into one:
