Is it not the Collective Unconscious mind that has been the rather unseen shepherd working just beneath the level of consciousness which will reveal itself in collective behaviors where whole masses of people, suddenly, together, stand up in the awareness that the social forces at work have been screwing them because they were previously isolated and thought to be alone.
No it is not the collective unconscious mind. It is a collection of conscious minds working together and communicating consciously with speech and text. It is the long, slow and continuing process whereby creatures that are adept at communicating are proven to be more suitable for survival than those that do not communicate.
Communication, just like everything else, evolves. Successful methods are retained and accuracy and efficiency improve. The collective mind will emerge when communication becomes pure enough and complete enough that we begin to function like a single conscious entity.
I suppose that all of our unconsciousnesses could be getting together when we are not watching and conspiring on our behalf but I would bet that that is not the case. Uprisings and revolutions are caused by awake people talking to each other.
