I like your instructions as opposed to the "helps" jargon. Firstly, I'd like to change my user name from the whole name to a simpler form, like "Martoid" or something. How can I do that?

Also, what codes are used to:
--quote in the reply field the post that one wants to respond to
--section off with barriers (and intro'd with id of quoted indiv.)
the portions of the quote that are being responded to
--establish (or change) an avatar
