Hi all,
I've been away for a looong time; instead of debating evolution on these boards, I've been studying it as a computational neuroscientist and trainee in a newly formed program at UC San Diego on "anthropogeny". Anthropogeny is an old word that means, the study of human origins, which our group has resurrected.
This group has been putting on symposia, inviting many of the world's most prominent scientists to give lectures on various topics related to human origins. We just had one over the weekend on the human diet. There was a live webcast; the videos will be posted to
UCSD.TV in a couple of months.
Most recent symposia, with links to videos, include:
In the future, I'd be happy to post info on public symposia before they happen, for those who might like to tune in via live webcast. In the meantime, glad to share the info here.
There's also a database on uniquely human features, that I may post here later, with more details. Here's a quick link for now!
