Ironically, there is a German comedy duo (yes hard to believe...German comedy) called TV Total that is very similar to Ali G. About a year ago they had an evolutionary biologist on the show (Wolfgang Stephan) and it was hilarious. They are both smart kids but pretend to be complete idiots. One of them asked Dr. Stephan if humans evolved from apes, should we go to the zoo and kill all the chimps to keep them from taking over the government in a few years. They kept this up the whole time until he was speechless.
They also had a fundie Christian on the show and one of them kept trying to get the guy to admit that he masturbated...
and I always thought the Germans were unintentionally funny.

Isn't that Erkan und Stefan?
(TV Total always ran before that, featuring Stefan Raab, who himself ripped a lot of Ali G anyways.)

Hi Alex,
I thought it was Stefan and Erkan but you may be correct. I thought it was called TV Total but it is actually Headnut.tv....I did not realize you got these shows in Austria...Germany at some point was trying to block ORF1 since they were showing movies without commercials...don't know if it went through though.

Hi Rei,
I had to cancel the uploading last night as the estimated time for uploading went from around one hour up to 4 hours, and it was getting close to my bedtime.
However, I have uploaded it now, so it should be there for you.
Brian.

It took a lot longer to upload than I thought.
Did you watch it yet?
Brian.

I don't have an ASF player on this computer. I'll watch it when I get home.

We do get them on cable/satellite. Austrian televisison would be a bit meager, if we didn't: The first non-public television station opened this year. I don't know about the regions close to Germany, but on the wrong side of the alps there's no way to get the German stations with a regular antenna.
Blocking ORF? Sounds very strange to me.
regards
