Yeah, I know, I feel the same way, so I'm sort of torn in two directions because I do need an economical way to put some moderation pressure on those who are a little bit too free with their appellations. I hoped that assigning censored words on single individuals would usually be a temporary measure, but Jar and I had a conversation, and we were not able to find common ground.
Edited by Admin, : Grammar.

You tried it, it didn't work. Isn't it the time to stop?
The goal was to provide an economical way to enforce rule 10. It's working fine.
My hope was that it would not need to be permanent for any individual because seeing asterisks would be an effective deterrent. For some individuals this hope proved out, for others not.

Sometimes, the words "insane," "ignorant," and "stupid" are precisely the words that NEED to be used.
Yes, I agree, sometimes they are.

Re: move to suggestions ...
There are no words on the site-wide censored list. Some individuals have a few.

For me it's all just vocabulary. I guess that means we wouldn't get approval for children beneath a certain age, but there are no public sensibilities I'm trying to protect. I'm just trying to better leverage the moderator resources we have.
I added some censored words to someone else for a while, I think it was Dr Adequate. I know he doesn't lack for ego, but even so, I don't think the guy recognizes his own talent for creative expression. It seemed to me that the censoring caused an increase in his creative output, to all our mutual benefit.
And in my opinion, the censoring has had the same effect on Jar.

Re: Faith
Any moderator can edit a member's censored word list. What we really need is a setting to control maturity level.
