Some of my decorative art.
Some of the larger pieces which have been automatically shrunk down will suffer from the process and should be viewed at full size.
Pieces like these two without distinct borders can be used to tile the plane:
A plate, I guess:
A hexagon. I don't know what you could use a hexagon for, but I like doing them:
For a coffee mug:
Some more repeating patterns:
This one has a distinct way up:
Another hexagon:
More repeating patterns:
This one with some fivefold and tenfold symmetry:
Fractally hexagons:
Another with a distinct axis. This is one of my favorites:
Something more conventional:
A tangled web ... view at full size ...
Continued in the next post, as there's a limit to how many images I can put in one post.

Another circle:
A rug:
Hexagonal patterns of various sizes:
And some more fivefold symmetry:
A bigger rug:
Sometimes I wonder if I overuse orange. It's not a fashionable color ...
A square fractal:
Just some more hexagons:
A rug:
Some rotational symmetry:
Chintz. So I'm ready when the chintz revival happens.
Not chintz:
Design for a mug:
Very ... Gothick:
Another rug:

Re: neat-O
What software or process are you using?
I'm using software that I wrote myself. I call it "Fabulist" for no particular reason.

Very nice. But I was looking for something with a more Penrose style tiling...?
But decorative art is meant to repeat, so one can tile a surface with it. It's not easy getting decagons and pentagons to tile the plane like that. As for the heptagons ...
I haven't posted anything with heptagons, have I? I shall remedy this deficiency shortly.

Re: neat-O
I'm seeing what looks like film grain in some of these images, which makes me think you're using photographs as the "base image" before permuting it.
I'm not sure if you're seeing film grain or an artifact of the process, but yes, that's what I'm doing. No-one's figured that out before, congratulations.
I'm hesitant to ask what those images are (because I'm still thinking it's all a bit of a joke, and they'll all turn out to be pictures of your balls or something) but seeing a side-by-side for some of them would be cool. (Unless its your balls.)
My balls are much prettier than that.
I tell you what, why don't you post a photograph (not of your balls) and tell me roughly what you'd like me to do with it, and I'll see what I can do.
Some tips:
* Highlights and point sources result in an image that looks out of focus and makes one's eyes water. So probably not images from the HST, sorry.
* Sharpish demarcations between areas of color are good. A color wheel, for example, would be a bad choice.
* Natural objects are usually better than artificial ones, though some of the latter will produce good results.
* A photograph of a three dimensional object is not the exact same color as your eyes tell you that the three-dimensional object is.
* Even with the most promising-looking image source, it may not be possible to produce a satisfying composition. But I'll do my best.
I'm hoping that you'll come up with some new idea that I haven't already used.
