Watch the videos at the end there. You know that stereotype about minorities, after centuries of being oppressed, are now being the oppressors themselves? A guy name Ruben Diaz leads the march of hate. The irony is making my head explode.

I don't get it. If you don't like gay marriage, don't get gay married. If you don't like gays, don't be gay. It's not that hard people.

You don't get it.
I don't get it. If you don't like gay marriage, don't get gay married. If you don't like gays, don't be gay. It's not that hard people.
The only people who are really angry with the homosexuals are the closeted homosexuals.
I don't know if you are straight or not, but speaking from the perspective of a straight man, the who idea that gays could be "recruiting" is just ***.
Only a homosexual could propose such an idea because only a homosexual would consider the idea that they were just one good convincing argument away from riding a rainbow unicorn.
If the people who "don't like gays" could actually take your advice and "don't be gay", this whole issue would have been resolved years ago.

Re: You don't get it.
Well, I think I've told you guys this before on this forum. I'm a straight guy that regularly goes out and dance with gay guys at bars. The mrs hasn't mind yet. And in my past, I've actually tried to be gay before. Interesting experiment. Didn't really go as expected.
The point is this notion that straight guys are one good argument from turning gay is utterly ridiculous. I've tried to be gay before. It simply doesn't work that way. If you want to be gay, you gotta at some point have gay sex. And in order to have gay sex, you really gotta be arroused by another person of the same sex. And this is where the stumbling block lies.
To my fellow anti-gay brothers, go ahead and actually try it out. If you're really straight, try to convince yourself to be gay for a day. See if you can even get it up for another guy. I couldn't, and I was really really trying. In fact, I ended up having to make the lame-ass "it's not you, it's me" comment.
Seriously, just try it out. See if you're just one good argument from turning gay or not. Prove it to us that your argument has merit.

Really, who the fuck cares if being gay is a choice after all? The debate over whether or not being homosexual is by choice or by nature is silly. It really shouldn't matter. These anti-gay protesters weren't born Baptist, they chose to be Baptists. So if I or anyone else chooses to get naked with or even marry someone with the same plumbing, who's business is it? If God doesn't like it, then let God deal with it.
I agree that the most vocal and angry anti-gay activists are more often than not super-closeted, secret man-craving fiends. I had a gay friend who covered the GOP presidential convention in 2000. He told me that he'd had the steamiest sex ever while he was there, and it wasn't with the openly gay conservatives in the Log Cabin Republicans group. You really build up a lot of frustration if you spend your whole life hiding who you really are, sometimes even from yourself.

Your beliefs do not effect reality and evidently reality does not effect your beliefs.

Reality has a well-known liberal bias.
-Steven Colbert
I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.

The answer doesn't matter. The question does.
The people posing that question are themselves homosexual and self loathing.
A non-homosexual wouldn't pose the question.
A non-self loather wouldn't pose the question.
I agree, if it was a choice, so be it. It's just that it isn't a choice.

Re: You don't get it.

I think the thing is that we have people caught by the attractions of two moralities. On the one hand we have the Bible saying to kill all the abominable gaymen; on the other hand we have the more modern proposition that it is wrong to hate or hurt someone for a quality which is innate and unchosen (skin color being the classic example).
It is possible to avoid conflict between these two ideas so long as being gay is a choice. If it isn't, they'd have to take sides --- the Holy Ghost or the Zeitgeist.
---
I disagree that they're all closet homosexuals. Think of the statistics. Nearly every conservative Christian will come out with that dogma about homosexuality being a choice. Now if this dogma is the mark of a closet case, how did it come about that ~95% of conservative Christians are gay and only ~5% of liberals ... ?

Re: You don't get it.
So, You're either gay, straight, or ***?
Well, those really are choices, right?
My point was that people who are actually straight do not believe that they are just one good argument away from being turned gay.
I'm straight. I have plenty of gay friends. I've attended gay weddings. I've a vocal advocate for gay rights. At no time have I ever been tempted to be gay.
For someone to honestly be making the argument that people are recruited into the gay lifestyle, they themselves must believe that that is a possibility. The only people who believe that that is a possibility are people for whom that is reality.
In other words, if you think you can be tricked into being gay - you're already gay.

Gay kids raised in an environment where homophobia is endemic turn to the church for protection.
Look at Bachmann's husband. He's a "pray the gay away advocate".
Listen to him talk, look at his face - tell me this guy is straight.

Bah! Bi guys are just gay guys who are too into themselves to limit the number of people who will give them attention

My thought exactly.
For years, I have been pondering the question of how has christianity not rid themselves of this kind of hate yet? It's the 21st century for christssake.
