We seem to have lost
[sup]superscript[/sup] and [sub]subscript[/sub] capabilities. Or am I confusing this with another board?

Use these '<' instead square brackets

We don't have these here, but they'd be incredibly easy to add if there's demand for them. In fact, most of my time would be spent updating the dBCdode help page.
The reason we don't have them is because except for the brackets they're identical to html, but I can believe that remembering which codes need to be HTML could be a pain.

Use these '<' instead square brackets Well, then O.K. Thanx, CS.

Have the URL tags always been so picky?
I just noticed in Bluejay's Message 192 that a space before the URL breaks the link (though it still highlights like a link for some reason). Has this always been like this, or is it something unique to the recent update? Jon Love your enemies!

That has been true in just about any web based language I know of.
Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Has this always been like this, or is it something unique to the recent update? Yes, it has always been this way, and no, it doesn't have to be. I can certainly believe what Jar says about spaces breaking the link at most bulletin boards, it's surprising how little attention many bulletin boards give to rendering the codes because it's easy to be more forgiving, and if after giving it some thought I can't think of any downside then I will do so.

Pretty smooth transition. I hope I have as much skill in a transition I'll be programming at work in the coming weeks...
Small issue:When using the search page (even just typing "god" into the quick search), the Topic column of the results page doesn't seem to display the "Posts: xxx, Pages: xxx" area correctly. All threads displaying in the search results show the same data, and this data doesn't include any actual pages after "Pages:" (Using the most awesome Internet Explorer v9.0, to which all other web browsers say "hey, that's not microsoft's worst product") For example: Peanut Gallery (Percy)Posts: 3184, Pages: Inductive Atheism (Straggler)Posts: 3184, Pages: Subjective Evidence of Gods (Straggler)Posts: 3184, Pages: United States Debt Default (Straggler)Posts: 3184, Pages: The Ultimate Question - Why is there something rather than nothing? At the top of each thread page display, you show a chart with the following headings:
Participants (17) --- Posts (100) --- Answered/Replies --- Members' Posts Only In the "Members' Posts Only" column you include the word "Fetch" as a link in order to show only that member's posts for the currently viewed thread. You could do the following...Only show these headings: Participants (17) --- Posts (100) --- Answered/Replies The "Posts" column already includes the number of posts just for that user... you could turn this number into the link to all posts from that user (replacing the "Fetch" link, and deleting that entire column). Also, the number right after "Posts" (in this case -> 100)... could be a link to revert the thread view back to "Normal Thread Display", showing all posts instead of just a particular user's. This would reduce bulkage and be intuitively user-friendly (keeping the hover-text would, of course, be even more helpful). The number already represents how many posts are from that particular user... a link would intuitively lead one to be able to view just those posts from that user. This would also add an intuitive place to change the thread view back to normal. Instead of having to know that such a link is also under each person's name/avatar on the left portion of the screen in the main thread-viewing area. Hi Straggler,
I haven't heard from you in a few days. I assume you're still having the same problem. If we can do that VNC session I'm sure I can fix it. I've made a few more fixes over the past few days, you might give it another try on the off chance that I accidentally fixed it.

Hi Stile,
Good idea, I'll put it on the todo list.
Stile writes: Your friendly neighbourhood back-seat programmer, Let me know when you're ready to change seats - I always need help! About the search bug, it's been that way for a while. I've held off fixing it because I intend to merge the Search.php module into Threads.php.

I'm not sure what to call it, but when i attempted to use my ipod to access threads I was limited on which pages would load up. Specifically, whenI attempted to access threads with more than 8 pages(?) the posts would not load but the links at the top (profile, essential links, etc) would still appear. I could open the first page, and cyclde forward to the next few pages, but when i got to about the 5th or 8th page it would no longer load. I could not load them whether i used the 'next page' icon or the actual 'number' of the pages listed.
I could view the higher thread pages only after I logged in.

If you meant iPad instead of iPod then I'm not seeing any problems accessing long threads on my iPad2 while logged out. If you really meant iPod then I don't understand how you're accessing the site. Can you clarify or provide more information?
