Re: Too many posts...
I have found a very tiny bug.
If you submit a message with
Some text
the text appears suitably small.
But if you edit that message then it is changed to
Some text
(note the missing '=0')
Obviously this is not a 'show stopper'.

Re: email notification
This should be fixed, but I won't know for sure until someone replies to me. Notifications aren't sent for replies to yourself.
Yeah, its all good now.

So I'm curious, for those who think they can tell whether the performance is now better, worse, or the same, could you post a short note to this thread?
It does seem to "pop" faster...
Instead of a few large chunks of the page loading serially, the whole page just shows up at once.

I am having problems with the width of the existence topic. I believe it may be a problem with msg 786, the whole page 40, 20 post per page, is messed up. This problem only happens on that particular page. I am running puppy Linux w FF5

It feels snappier to me.

So I'm curious, for those who think they can tell whether the performance is now better, worse, or the same, could you post a short note to this thread? Thanks!
I'm not seeing any change but then My ISP is in the way and I know they have numerous hiccups and delays as evidenced by other sites.
But since I'm here and on this subject:

Way to go, man.

The PNT indicates 3 total message, but no message 2 shown. Message 3 is the promotion message.
The promoted version has 2 message 1's, and no message 2. Message 3 is the promotion message, and the first message 1 is a copy of the promotion message, except it is attributed to "No Name Available".
The first time I tried to promote the topic I ran into a bug, but the message describing the move was still added, so I deleted it. When I promoted the thread for real after fixing the bug the deleted message somehow became undeleted and became message 1. There may still be a bug or two left, I'm looking into it now.
Deleted messages are only deleted, not expunged - a future feature will be for moderators to be able to read and undelete deleted messages.

The same happens at home (Ubuntu 11.04 using both Chromium and Opera) and work (XP with IE 8). It is most likely the coding on that one particular message.

Re: Still Cannot Search - Tried Different PCs
I followed your link and tried changing the compatibility mode. No change I am afraid.
But cheers for trying anyway.

Re: Its back
ICANT is cut-n-pasting his material from somewhere, it's got the exact same typos and width every time, I fixed it again. I can't find where he's getting it from using Google, maybe someone wants to play detective and track it down?
This isn't related do dBoard 4.0, so if he does it again just post a note to Report Discussion Problems Here 3.0.

One more experiment, we should have tried this earlier. If you log out does search work?
AbE: Once VNC is installed then send me your IP address (Just a moment...) and password via PM.

Indeed, this is now fixed. Thanks.
And by the way, thanks for all the good work on the forum software. The switch to PHP has been remarkably smooth.
